Oh really you old generation people are so closed minded and not getting on with the times. If World of Warcraft wants to thrive and survive and stay relevant it needs to adapt and have ease of access and quality of life. And have solo play and this is when Dragonflight will fix that by adding in alternative activities besides the big 3.
Whatever man, enjoy your dying game. I’m not even that old, I’m 29 and I am willing to bet you my WoW account is older than you are. This isn’t an age thing, this is a “I played MMOs early and know why the genre was ever popular” vs the bulk of people who probably only joined when the MMO craze was starting to die off ironically due to changes made to appeal to those markets of players.
You traded long term fans for fair weather friends, now you’re seeing what’s happening as a result.

I don’t see how it was successful when back then I heard the game was already on a decline due to load of restrictions tied to endgame activities.
You unironically think Shadowlands is better than Classic lmao. This isn’t that I have no clue, this is I’m dealing with a confirmed Legion baby, and you probably are a newcomer who started post Cata if not in Cata. Cover your ears all you want but this game is dying and has been dying for a long time.

Except when the game was its most restrictive it saw progressive growth quarter over quarter back when Blizzard wasn’t afraid to report sub counts. It was when the game was made more and more accessible the quarters became about “How low can this game get on subs?” People were in panic mode when MoP was spouting 7 million. Blizzard stopped reporting them in WoD when they managed to lose 5.4 million players in a single 3 month period post WoD launch after bragging about selling 11 million copies of the expansion.
Legion surpasses that of any and I mean ANY of the old game expansions. But sure keep on thinking that classic era days were successful.

I love the mount and it cost me far less time than any of the mounts I’ve farmed.
It reminded me how much I love the QoL improvements that have been made in Retail since Wrath, and having made a number of DKs on various servers over the years for countless farming purposes, I got through it rather quickly.
I tried to jump into the pre patch event but no one was around, so I get the bribe as a business decision, and hopefully it should pull in some players who never experienced Wrath in it’s original form, while introducing them to how talent trees work before DF launches.
But Classic is far from killing Retail as OP claims.

Guess what every game company doesn’t report its numbers and they don’t have to if they don’t want to anymore.
Season 4 has been horrible. They picked some bad dungeons to use for mythic plus that is for sure. I gave up trying after kara. NOT WORTH THE TROUBLE. Even the folks making the videos have guys dying in them during the fights wtf.

Yeah, sure, that’s why people were begging for Classic servers MOST during Legion, right? That’s why the vanilla private servers became such a huge concern going into Legion that they had to axe the largest one because it was showing just how much appeal was there.
Face it, the modern game has literally nothing aside from flashy graphics and accessibility. That doesn’t keep players and it shows. You actually at a point need an actual game for them to play. Vanilla, TBC, Wrath, even Cataclysm all offered people that game. Legion did not.
You ask anybody who has played every single version of WoW, odds are Legion is going to be 4th or 5th in a list. The only people who think Legion was good are people who began playing around WoD where it’s not up against stiff competition if you compare it to WoD, BFA, and SL.
Well, those classic wrath talent tree and the Dragonflight talent tree isn’t the same thing.
