Classic WoW is killing Retail WoW

Buying months at a time game time negates any claims made about content drought. Buying all that time validates that you don’t care and are willing to pay in advance for nothing no matter what you EXPECT to get.

“It’s late at night”

“Everyone has work in the morning”

“It’s a school year”

“It’s end of the expansion”

“I always see players on my server”

“Join a guild”

Any more more that I missed?

This isn’t true.

Pugs have been running normal raids. If you are having a hard time finding people there are several guilds advertising. And there are friendly ones like Oasis running people through stuff all the time.

And when pre-patch hits for DF, they’ll probably switch.

the real death of retail happened 2 and 3 months in it was amusing seeing servers you played on go boom bare. i hope they do a good job with wrath release cause i fully plan on playing it at least til regular flying is obtainable in df if i even buy it. at least people talk to you in classic unlike retail even when i’m supposedly on a full server and basically nothing but silence it can’t get much more boring.

People who complain about lack of social interraction (eg: chatting in dungeons) are people who have never instigated a conversation themselves. ten out of ten times people will participate in a conversation if i start one while waiting for the dungeon to start

I think after the ridiculous Social Contract and turning the game into ‘World of Reportcraft’ where reporting everyone you disagree with became a thing, people are afraid to talk in trade chat. I remember the game being more chatty and sociable in the past.

Good News: Wrath is retail WoW!

Wrath is like rock paper scissors, retail is chess except half the people playing it don’t know what piece they are. The tutorial experience for retail is abysmal given how experienced the veterans are at the game, classic is a breathe of fresh air solely because you can tell when people are aweful in your groups, to like the level where they are completely itemized for an opposite class, yet you still down content. Its an experience to THEM, they’re new, and I love being apart of those experiences. Retail the moment someone uses the less optimal talent build, there’s some jackass who has to throw shade when a boss isn’t speed killed fast enough, too many one directional thinkers (not that they do not exist in classic).

Hopefully with the difficulty hike in wotlk, new players improve to where they can transition into post dragonflight era wow.

Give it two more weeks

Here’s how it works atm:

  1. It is in the last part of the current expansion, generally known as The Drought. At such times the game population always drops off.
  2. People are checking out the PTR.
  3. People are on beta for Dragonflight.
  4. People are playing one or more versions of Classic.

If you want my advice, and dont wish or cant do any of 2,3 or 4, then spend the next 4 months earning gold because it will be very handy come the 10.0.

I agree give it until DF launches then the classic babies will all be here crying their game is now dead and the war rages on.

Shadowlands just isn’t popular in general. If DF is good you will see a mass migration to the new xpac.

Its almost like Shadowlands Sucked and people would rather go back and enjoy a better time on WoW… Don’t blame the players for a second lol, its blizzards fault for this sorry state of game

Classic is not what has Retail in a bad place…

It’s the last 2 expansions… poor story telling, some okay raids and terrible systems being added. Plus it’s the end of an expansion. Blizzard didn’t listen to it’s player base… stop trying to blame classic. WOTLK will be great and when DF comes out, it’ll have the player-base back… and it looks good with lots of changes that are positive.

I’d have no problem trying classic but it needs more server options first

So you’re blaming Blizzard for yourself buying game time in 6 month increments? Shadowlands is the least popular WoW’s been in over a decade and there’s only about two months left till DF comes out- allegedly.

Sure… If Classic was fun. I found quite dull and boring.

i simply don’t find classic boring for the simple reason of what a sham is in classic to retail is quite hilarious and shows all the glaring issues of all the stuff they removed from retail and made it less fun and quite boring compared to what it is in classic.
