A Warlock was the highest rank PvPer on my Vanilla server back in the day.
Forget his name, but he was renowned across the server for his PvP skills. He was one of those “the Insane” title holders too. Played WoW like 24/7. Dude was a machine. He was in my guild on the original Bleeding Hollow US server.
Rogues have no way to get rid of dots in classic outside of dwarfs stoneform and even that only works for some dot abilities, the rogue would need all of their cooldowns to have a chance angainst an sl lock so they can reset and eat to heal through dots, and even then would have an extremely difficult time if the lock has a voidwalker out.
I mean, I play one so I may have bias but any stealth class that is guaranteed to get the jump is at a huge advantage. If I start off with a 1k crit, that’s a fairly sizable shift in my favor. Add that to the fact that it’s unanimously agreed that Druids are the best at escaping and running away ensures that you won’t really ever die if you don’t want to. Mana is the biggest hinderance I’ve been jumped at half health while fighting a mob by a rogue and still won. So… I mean I’m that matchup I’d say druids are favored to win
Rogues are scissors.
Warriors are rocks.
Warlocks are mushrooms.
Everyone else is paper.
Scissors beats paper.
Scissors also beats rock, until rock hits 60 and becomes and unstoppable killing machine. At which point, rock also beats paper.
So scissors beats paper, rocks beats scissors and paper, but rock can’t find scissors because it’s invisible.
Not sure I follow. You are going to stop playing warrior because they aren’t alpha at open world pvp/ 1v1ing?
Get engineering, that’ll help you make up some deficiencies in warriors available skills. Also, go watch Monkeynew’s. Not saying you can play like him, just to show you what they can do.
The most fun I have in this game is WPVP and making gold (farming)… so yea if a class sucks at it I’m not going to be able to keep interested. Better to swap now than at 60.
Yea I’ve seen monkeynews play, that’s why I started a warrior. But I don’t like tanking anymore, grinding blows as a warrior, and the world PvP even with alchemy and eng seems like a good outing class could beat you and camp you… feeling like I made the wrong choice and trying to fix that.
The answer is “the person who knows how to play their class the best”
The classes are balanced for a group, asymetrically. If you know how your class interacts with other classes, you’ll do fine. But sometimes, that interaction is “oh God, run away”
That’s kinda what I’m looking for, but neither have any way of getting away mobility wise.
In Vanilla I had a shadow priest and honestly my fondest memories of vanilla wow is pvping outside gadgetstan on my spriest and my brother on his mage.
