You got weaker because you were transitioning between a system reliant on raw stats to one that was based on procs/special effects. There is clearly going to be a dip around the mid point of the leveling process.

I got weaker because thats how blizz handles the transition from lgion to BFA, it was their design choice, its not like blizz wasn’t aware of how their game played.

How is it this any different than what you’re doing in classic? Except of coarse you actually listed more stuff to do in SL than classic
Retail has been dead to me since Cataclysm.

I really like the thought of playing the so-called allied-races (assuming you can start one from scratch without unlocking it first with a different boosted character) but that isn’t enough to get me to endure what the retail game has become. It’s a disjointed, convoluted, sloppy mess of mini-games, and the leveling process now feels like a soulless, unrewarding experience.

Cataclysm was a huge mistake in its design, but somehow I managed to soldier on. It was not as fun as it was pre-Cataclysm but still playable. This was true all the way up to patch 7.3.5. Then it was just garbage unless you were end game raiding.
I’m not sure if any expansions will come out for Classic or if it will remain a museum piece. The lesson learned either way should be “If it ain’t broke don’t fix it.”

I don’t think so. I pre-ordered BFA with high-hopes and was let down and stopped caring a month into the expansion. The game just doesn’t play how I want to play it anymore, and classic (and hopefully TBC) do.

I will not be getting Shadowlands, I will be playing Classic. Currently Rank 6 in pvp, trying to hit rank 10. Also leveling up a Mage with a buddy. Retail is just not fun to me. I really wish it was.

I will play shadowlands. I haven’t touched retail since classic dropped. I hope that classic gave Blizzard the boost it needed to make a good expac but the odds of that happening are the odds of HOJ dropping.

It isn’t what they need to do, to make a good expansion. It’s what they need to undo to make Retail good again. The developers won’t listen to this because they think they know better than the players. Despite the statistics, they just plow forward hoping to accidentally get something right.

I bought BFA and then never played it because the gameplay was awful (art team is amazing). I spent all of Legion leveling alts to find a main that was actually enjoyable (and failed)
Shadowlands content is even less finished than Warfronts were and we all know how they turned out.
Not to mention all the good stuff like cosmetic improvements for all races won’t even be paywalled behind buying the new xpac and since subs are shared between games you can still play most of retail without ever buying a new expansion ever again.

I don’t see myself buying Shadowlands, not interested at all with what I’ve seen. Although I’m glad that Blizzard released Classic, I realize that I’ve been wearing rose tinted glasses. The great thing about Vanilla/BC was that I had no idea what to expect when I bought the game and it blew me away. I’ll keep playing Classic for now in the hopes that I’ll be able to play with people that I enjoy playing with at endgame since that’s what made MoP enjoyable for me.

shadowlands is bfa 2.0 all you will end up doing is chasing ilvl cheese like a mouse on a treadmill each patch and getting your rng lootbox upgrades on tuesdays,grind a tower instead of an island and lfr/n/h/m raids.
its the EXACT SAME THING YOU ARE DOING NOW.
