Classic TBC Servers down with no notice, again!

The article says the Community forums, not Support forums.

Yeah just deleted mine quick as well because I misread the post I was replying to haha.

For future reference, just tell us what’s going on in the first place and don’t try to downplay it for hours.

Whos even leveling. They are doing fresh servers to get away from the 99% botted economy. Join the discoords come to fresh and have a blast with us all. Take a break until prepatch you have about a month.

< Calmly ignores post and waits for servers to come back up so that they can farm consumes for Naxx >

Right, post to a community forum about a support issue instead of the support forums. Again, it is obtuse.

Anyone else notice they took the banner info off of the B-Net app?

He didn’t have that information in the first place. He got it later.

I see seven furious typers. I wonder what their fresh take will be on all of this?

Same with us. The release has already been tested on Lower environments such as PREPROD, then a production clone. When we release it, it’s on its only production cluster where QA runs a final regression test and then OK DevOps to Switch the DNS to point to the new Cluster. The old Cluster keeps the old version for some time just in case there is an issue, DevOps can be ordered to switch it back to the old Cluster. Very little to no customer impact.

Hey, you’re on to something! Let’s fire the maintenance devs, like where’s the monetary return on anything that isn’t a flashy dollar sign in the store!

Bots will be there too u cant get away from them

They have said for a while that they were removing this service after the 26th, I’m sure they didn’t anticipate their servers pooping out like this. Most likely whatever they did to deprecate the services probably deleted some people’s characters that should not be deleted.

I ordered some Sapporo via DoorDash and made some popcorn. I love watching other engineers struggle when it’s not myself being woke up at 2am to fix a bug.

That’s a failure on their part. This isn’t their first rodeo. They’ve been doing this for 17 years and it still takes them 7 hours to make a phone call and figure out what’s going on so they can tell the paying customers why they’re not getting what they paid for. That’s pathetic and unacceptable business practice.

Usually Tuesday morning was a good spot, it was and probably is the least populated time. Keep in mind though in the case of the game servers, they have times around the clock, with players from around the globe. So ultimately no downtime is ideal in this case.

You post feedback, which is what you are giving and wanting Vrakthris to pass on, in the Community forums. Vrakthris’s job does not include passing feedback on. The ones who monitor the Community forums like General Discussion are ones who pass that feedback on.

I just checked and then re-logged and both times it’s still showing for me.

Again, support issue. I don’t understand why I would post it in a forum other than a support forum.

@Vrakthris It would be amazing if Blizz could Sticky a post in the general forums about these maintenance in the future. If you are able to do that would be awesome or if you can at least bring that feedback up to whoever gets to decide that would be greatly appreciated!
