OK fine point taken but doesn’t mean we should make LFG a thing because it’s the same thing
If it’s bothering you so much you can simply ignore the thread.
LFG will IMPROVE social interactions because it will allow MORE people to get into dungeons and run them where in the past they might have avoided them all together.
I wouldn’t care if gatherer stopped working. None of the intercommunicating addons are really required IMO. You could take them all and I wouldn’t care.
But I do find this somewhat surprising. This is clearly a proxy whine about LFG being removed again. It’s interesting that we are pre-launch and SO MANY PEOPLE had apparently hinged their enjoyment of the game on being able to recreate something this entire project is almost exclusively against. I really wonder (genuinely wonder…) how that works.

Just when do you think Vanilla was out? Pretty sure we were using computers to run the game.
So far as being “api limited” (<grins at Winterspite) it sounded like it was the social aspect Blizz was worried about in the blue statement. I don’t think the AH has ever generated much in the way of social behavior, beyond making everyone stand together in one room.

I am honestly pretty upset that the #nochanges crowd hasn’t made a bigger stink about this. We championed restricting debuff slots to vanilla numbers, as they should be to avoid throwing off raid balance, but we are okay with another tech limitation getting to slide? Pretty lame in my opinion.
See my above post regarding the Defcon 1 levels of nervousness in the forums. I think once we get to about Tuesday or Wednesday, things will calm considerably.

Have you considered just playing retail instead of trying to change classic to fit your preferred playstyle?

Two different departments. We have people that clean out the insides of our Dells.
When blizz directly states, they dont want these type of addons, and there is not often blizz have directly singled out something, im very sure they will nuke any effort of addons like this ever being a thing… if this wont convince people, i doubt anything will, so lets just let it die…
i am even more conviced of this after seeing both Omar and Birmingham stating they will keep to things stated !

That would be an example of an add-on I think they should and probably will ban too. They mentioned that they will take away the ability for an add-on like LFG Classic to communicate with others, so I see Gatherer being broken too. I don’t think there is any problem with it remembering and displaying your information, but communicating it to others who use the add-on is not good. It falls under splitting the community into those who use it vs. those who do not.
An add-on should be an extension of an individual’s UI, when that begins to affect one or more other players, that is unacceptable.

Forming the group can be impossible… how much social interaction does /2 LF1M Tank [insert instance] is that what “social interaction” is to you people???
To me that is 10% of it… the rest is IN the group when it is formed… NOT the act of its forming…
It mostly depends on what a … erm … sufficiently motivated person screams about loudest and longest. It’s nothing to do with the importance of the question.
