ClassicLFG addon wasn’t banned, features it has are going to be broken. Most likely the mod’s communication between clients. Possibly the auto-invite.
I am going to call it now, ClassicLFG is still going to be functional to a level at which it is going to continue making purists and anti-LFG folks upset. Be prepared to continue complaining.

Unless blizz makes it so spawn locations are completely random, where the nodes are located will be known to the playerbase fairly quickly.
It also just remembers, you can still only track one at a time, and even in a big group of spawns you might not find anything when you walk over there.
It would be neat if blizz changed node locations, just so old data wasn’t completely accurate, but eventual everyone will know where the copper spawns and you cant do anything about that.
The guild syncs a nice feature if everyone didnt already have the DB of classic spawns, but its basically a feature you wont need to use because we have the DB of node locations already.
Sadly I did it so much I still remember where each ore type spawns in each zone, I don’t even need the add on. This is the type of thing you that more or less keeps the game from truly giving you that same experience, can’t destroy knowledge.
Back around the original 1.12 update they created a way for mods to communicate with each other in a more efficient method. Prior to this, mods generally created or joined if they already existed, global channels that would allow the mods to communicate with each other. Generally with messages that wouldn’t be easy for a human to parse.
This feature has steadily been improved since, but will likely have restrictions placed on it now going forward. They might also prevent access to the invite function in the API, preventing addons from calling it.
All in all, the addon isn’t going anywhere, most of the useful features are going to remain, which means people are going to continue being upset.

I don’t see it that way. It’s broadcasting a comment to anyone that happens to have the app.
It’s like … you ask LFG to look through everyone’s bags to see if anyone has any metal, vs asking Gatherer to tell you when someone with the app finds some metal.

People who cry that the Classic LFG addon is being broken need to be ban from these forums. They are the SAME cry babies that pushed WOW to what it is today and why Millions of people NO longer play WOW.
Please don’t forget that Classic LFG isn’t banned. The only thing being changed is they’re removing the automated features of the addon. It will still act as a chat parser. Calm down.
It’s not over. It’s just the beginning. I wasn’t for or against the LFG addon until I was able to see what it could do in Classic and not Retail. I did feel it was more powerful than it should have been from that clip. We have no clue what the repercussions will be changing certain parts of the API.
It’s going to be a crazy few months until they get it the way the want and I feel for players hit by the crossfire. I just hope the addon developers don’t get too much hate or begging to fix their addon that was broken. I heard one of the popular RP addons might be getting hit from changes. No clue.
