It automates a key component of this, as you said yourself, social interaction.
Saying a dungeon run doesn’t require social interaction is not far from the truth in modern dungeon finder dungeons though. Which is sad, and one of the plethora of reasons players want classic wow.
What about it? Addons have been in from beginning. IF they ban them all then oh well. They will not get to me. In meantime I will enjoy addons. TYVM !!
NO ONE TELLS ME HOW TO PLAY A GAME PERIOD!
Good luck all Have a great fabulous time in Classic however you play
Players are already coming together: it’s called an mmo. LFG addon removes the necessity of interaction and not acting like a dickhead, and moreover, meeting folks and making friends while enjoying a video game. I know you’re just making a nonsense meme-y response because you have no point, but actually thinking LFG is good for classic won’t get you anywhere.
You are somehow under the assumption LFG add on will magically create more social interaction than not having it. You’re not making a point, you’re delusional and just trying to argue.
Technically it wasn’t banned. They are just changing the API that allowed auto-invites, which the developer already removed anyway. The addon itself will still very likely work in its most current version, with no auto-invites.
Says the guy downplaying an add-on that will make your list grow FASTER…
because it makes bringing people together to RUN a dungeon better…
The Problem with Retail LFG is not the ease of group matching…
it is the cross server functionality…
it is the port immediately to your current location in the dungeon functionality…
it is ease of the content requiring ZERO social interactions to complete…
2 things come to mind:
-The remember thing is something you can do with a map coor addon (which I want to believe you don’t mind existing), a piece of paper and a pencil. I don’t see any problem with it.
-On the second part, why would you want to share with other people your farming spots?
We’re not in 2004 anymore, the majority of the player base is 15 years older and have less time to play the game, forming dungeon groups used to take hours and was worse if you where DPS as you’re a dime a dozen. People are going to quickly only group up with their guilds and any sort of social interaction is going to be intraguild because it’s going to be faster to get a dungeon group going.
What are they doing then, specifically, because now I’m curious? They just said that they were making changes to “severely limit” certain aspects of this addon and any others like it. To me that sounds like breaking any auto-invite ability. I think the addon is fine as long as there’s no automation, such as auto-invites. Most people in one of the main discussions about this addon said much of the same, and that’s why the addon developer commented so many times stating that the auto-invite feature had already been removed in the current version.
