No it WAS a part of the game… talk to an innkeeper and you would be put in a Q for a dungeon… the only thing it did not do was filter for roll… You could get a group of 5 healers if that is all that was in the Q. That is why people did not use the Innkeepers or Meeting Stones…
Errr, no it isnt, im not blizz, its up to them to judge what, we can and cant have… im fairly sure they will get to things in due time… but in this case we are debating LFG and how its been deemed WRONG, and will borken, couse blizzard has judged it against the classic experience…
Now if you want to start a debate on other things, thats a entirly difrnet debate, just like real life, you cant debate all problems at once, and think you can fix it in one debate… so dont change the subject

Forming a group was the worst and smallest part of the social interaction of group content…
This add on helps smooth that out INCREASING real social interaction.
So… just FYI, the addon communication feature was implemented around 1.12 actually. This was because addons were otherwise registering a channel (if it didn’t already exist) or joining one (in the event that it did) and then communicating via the chat channel.
This was horribly inefficient, both for the addons and for the server, which is the reason the addon feature was introduced. Breaking this feature doesn’t just hurt addons like gatherer, or LFG addons, it breaks it for all of them. So… your threat meters for instance? Those are now broken because they can’t communicate with anyone else’s threat meter addon in the raid. Same with DPS meters and HPS meters. There are a ton of addons that use this feature to do important things as far as sharing information goes.
So what do you suppose will happen when they break that feature? Well… odds are addons will go back to registering and spamming channels. Effectively, nothing will have been stopped from the perspective of addons communicating, it will have just become less efficient for everyone involved.
This is why i highly doubt this is the feature Blizz plans on breaking.

I’m surprised that Blizzard allowed addons to communicate on behalf of the player via chat. That seems to be the problem here.
No problem with addons parsing chat information and presenting it in a more helpful way, but being able to then automatically send out chat information (via dedicated channels I guess?) just seems broken.
I can imagine this being used to do all sorts of naughty things like informing other members of the same faction where enemy players are in the world so they can go gank them, etc.
But this is the point you are missing. They are releasing vanilla WoW as close to it’s roots as possible with all the flaws and good and to experience both.
it also limited people to just that stone, and that inn, meaning people had to fysically go to just that inn or stone ?..
way to try, grasp for straws and again take up totally irrelevant examples… thats like trying to squise a elefant into volksvagen… and say, yea it fits perfectly !
so you want to tell me , people with this addon forming a group between themselves and people without this addon are left behind is a good social interaction?
