The fact that ‘griefing’ is easy to avoid in most cases invalidates the appeals system in my eyes. I could have easily clicked on the orc if I wasn’t paying attention.
I still don’t get why people feel it’s fun to mess with others in negative ways though. I get no joy from these type of actions. But whatever, be alert folks.
I haven’t done it, but I do find it funny seeing the clips… I understand it can be frustrating from being cheesed in this way, but some tend to take it so personally. I’ve seen some real rage lol.
In this case because they were distracted by a rather large dragon being kited into town.
You are not wrong. Without drama this game isnt nearly as fun. I’d go play a myriad of single player RPGS if I didnt want the social drama that is constructed in this virtual world of azeroth.
You say negative ways. I say having stakes is fun.
Lots of people do trust me.
Whats going to be * fun * is seeing the “its just a game bro” (ala why are you getting mad about a game) and the “its all within the functional game mechanics” (despite Blizz saying otherwise via “zone disruption” and “game exploit” rules) harassment crowd lose 10+ year old accounts (when mass reported) with items and drops that cant be earned again because they couldn’t just leave other players alone.
…and they cant even get mad about it, because “its just a game bro” (ala why would you get mad about a game) and “its all within the functional game mechanics” (rules on exploiting asset placement and game mechanics exist). As in, there are rules regarding doing it and a method by which it can be reported. Which are the mechanics of the game.
Logic (used loosely) crafted for self serving purposes tends to have holes that can be used to torpedo the people employing it.
Moral of the story : Leave players alone that are leaving you alone, unless they’ve signed up for a PvP experience by turning on a tag, joining a PvP themed server or entering terrain designated as PvP.
None of this is hard, bad people just love employing logical contortionism in order to justify being “bad”
Make me.
/point
/lol
Soft people love employing moral manipulation to paint everyone as bad and themselves as victims.
This is unfortunate to see. These are the same folks who did the purge meta to intentionally mess with people’s world buffs at the end of Vanilla Classic. This kind of continued and intentional griefing needs to result in account action. Blizzard needs to send a message that this kind of behaviour isn’t ok. Clean up your community.
On the whole, I’d hate to see this happen. There’s some fun, emergent gameplay that can occur when you can kite mobs all over, but the problem is that people don’t know when to quit.
Back in OG Vanilla, it was really cool to see Kazzak show up in Stormwind. Like man, what an event! Props to the first person who figured it out. But then everybody wanted to do it and Blizzard had to make changes. Same deal with the buff purge meta… the first couple times, it’s kinda funny. If it happened to me I’d be like, “What? Oooooh daaaaang, nice troll!” But then it just becomes everybody doing it and gets old.
So I dunno, it’s a cool feature that some mobs can be kited around the world, but per what I said above, people repeatedly abusing it should probably have some kind of action taken against them. Or maybe, if Blizzard creates an official hardcore server, this can be something where that punishment applies.
At the end of the day, all we should really have to say is, “Be cool to one another” but sadly, that’s not gonna cut it
As long as you guys keep making these huge novels and get upset when it happens, it will continue.
By even mentioning this at all, you’re throwing gas on the fire. Your next reply will further be another gas can thrown into the fire, too
Soft will be determined by who has tears running when accounts containing unrecoverable in game items and store purchases just * poof *
General statement :
Quality Risk Vs Reward judgments dont come easy to the “lower shelf thinking” crowd.
Leave people alone that leave you alone = s “moral manipulation”. Reciprocated decency = s “moral manipulation”
“Moral manipulation” is being a baddie in the community minority and dishonestly conflating yourself with the population at large by using the term “everyone” to refer to yourself.

" Themselves as the victim"
Nowhere did I say anything about myself. Decent people dont have to be the direct target of something in order to care about other people that are.
From the same party that uses the term “manipulation”.
Words have meanings, maybe look them up before using them
I realise that. Negative energy and vibes. I’m not telling you need to stop your actions. I’ll simply let you know I dislike your actions and I will avoid you.
Problem solved.
Which of my actions do you dislike?
I’m quite sure you already know the answer to that.
Udderly clueless.
pun intended.
The griefing is hilarious imo
And just goes to show that the hc community is fine with appealing deaths because you accidentally click attacked a pvp target
Which is ridiculous. You die, you start over.
“go agane” as they say
Since its a roleplaying server, can we report all the people with -hc in their names? It is after all against the rules!
i agree, this is part of why i want an official HC server. the server would just be death = delete, no exceptions
imagine appealing a D2 HC death, lol
Appealing is not something that is going to happen on Official Hardcore Servers.
The ability to grief in Hardcore should be addressed. There are simple solutions.
Unwanted PvP should not be tolerated. Go play on a PvP server if you want to PvP.
