This is the hope! The only official way to play classic unless/until they do another season.
Classic Era is currently the only version of WoW where you have confidence that Blizzard wonât forcibly migrate players to a new version.

Couldnât have said it any better. I just logged back in from a long break(2020)⊠Feels like home still! Iâm hoping blizz releases a true vanilla version of the game in the future, the game didnât need all the modifications in the first place.
Iâve been playing on Mankrik for about a week now and the community is awesome.

Just canât see them running 3-4 flavors of classic wow as much as I wish they had a true vanilla. Classic Era is 98% there. SoM was a good middle ground. Maybe weâll see classic+ or future seasonal wow⊠but donât think weâll ever see pure vanilla without things like Chronoboon.
Even as is, thereâs so much player base fragmentation.

I was looking to play Horde again but Iâve only found 1 (large) Horde guild for US East PvE (my preferred region), which is Loot The Dog.
But the Alliance side seems to have more guilds to choose from for US East PvE. And The Misfits looks like one of the most active guilds in Classic WoW Era for Alliance PvE US East cluster.
Horde seems to have more guilds on West Coast (Whitemane) but I could be wrong.
Once season of mastery dies I feel like they may have to try their hand at something more classic. But you are probably correct. I wouldnât mind classic+ either, as long as they take content creation seriously, which I highly doubt they will knowing their recent actions. 
Classic era mankrik server is the best to play on. My vanilla shaman is in loot the dog. We do raids every single day of the week and regular dungeons. Theres also alot of low levels that run lower dungeons. Alliance side has about 4-5 guilds on the same level as loot the dog. Faction ratio is about 4:1 but its an active server to play on.

Whitemane is the realm Blizzard has set up to receive free transfers from other Classic Era PvP servers. The Era East PvP realms were divided into two separate clusters. How many people in your guild?
I just today installed the Census+ addon that I think tracks all players scanned through /who queries with the option to prune it for names that havenât been consecutively logged in a 30day timeframe. Iâll have a better answer for the realm cluster (5 realms: Benediction/Faerlina/Heartseeker/Incendius/Netherwind) as a whole 1 month from now but just going off raw numbers: 11 online, 146 online within the past 2 weeks (this number is including alts), and 454 members total (also, including alts).

I have BIS heal priest and rogue on Atiesh Classic Era. Any guilds raiding? My priest was a famous enchanter during Vanilla with all but one recipe that I want to complete from Twins in AQ40.

that cluster has a few people, but ur best bet is to take the free character transfer to mankirk. that cluster dosent clear aq40, mankirk however has 3 naxx teams. assuming ur alliance, horde clears naxx aswell
they might be able to do zg on that cluster, go to the mankirk/pagle cluster for the best era population
