Classic characters permanently deleted?

Season of Mastery 2 is coming up this summer, I believe. You’ll be able to start fresh then.

Edit: I guess I was wrong on the timeframe.

SoM2 hype!

nah, SoM2 will be here probably in winter
first is HC :expressionless:

Yea they mentioned in the hardcore announcement that news about next season will be released later in the year so it’s possible we don’t see it actually launch until 2024. Which means the seasonal version of their game has a gap between seasons as long as the first season was live for :expressionless: unbelievably sad looking

Not removed. Not deleted. It’s right there on the wotlk servers. Next time read your emails instead of coming and complaining FOUR YEARS LATER lol

Honestly I don’t mind tho. The more time it takes for fresh then hopefully the more hype there will be. All my friends who started classic with me and dipped around BWL (mostly because they weren’t sure about which class they wanted to play) are now itchin for another fresh server. None of the private servers satisfied them and they feel too left behind to join any classic era servers, which I know isn’t true because a lot of people are rolling new toons there atm.

I think they’re still trying to figure out what “seasonal” means.

From the little information we got we already know it’s going to be different then SoM.

they were deleted from the classic servers and then “cloned” to the wotlk servers… and then they sold people their original characters back

Not true. I have at least one email from blizzard talking about the clone service. So either you ignored the emails or never read them.

Actually that’s not true, they were on both Era and TBC realms at the same time from the start of TBC as inactive characters and you chose to activate one or the other for free or paid for both.

The inactive characters were deleted from Era realms when Wrath started and if you didn’t activate either your TBC/wrath characters were activated for free. Anyone who activated their Era “clone” had their Wrath version deleted when wrath started.

If you don’t understand a subject you shouldn’t really talk about it like you do.

Go talk to the people who went of most vanilla reforged thinking they were gonna get the horde cave pushed back. Go seek out those TBC egomaniacs who lobbied the whole expansion for dual specs telling everyone they were gonna get them any day now because they were asking for it. Go ask all those RDF guys how far they’ve gotten by asking for RDF.

You gotta make an actual case to get any real consideration. That’s your biggest obstacle - you don’t have a case. Blizz did nothing wrong, you don’t have a leg to stand on.

None of those things would make blizzard an extra buck.

Clones would though, appreciate your support.

Neither would clones seeing as the data is gone and they arent coming back. It would probably help to understand why they dropped the price to $5 and got rid of it.

And while no one would doubt ActiBlizz’s fondness for income, its still kind of foolish to think they are gonna bend over backwards too make some pocket change - and that’s assuming they could by actually having the data, which they don’t.

Besides all that, you said:

Doesn’t work. It only works if you have a legitimate gripe - you don’t.

You’re welcome.

Based hype to bring the clones back. Nice to see this thread alive

What hype? It’s basically 5 guys circlejerking their own threads.

You dont know it doesnt work, you dont know how much there is to make and you dont know what Blizz will do for money.

So considering all that you say is pointless we can only thank you for the bump.

Our gripe is legitimate.

Theres only like 3 guys against it.

There’s only like four people who actually post on these forums at all

Okay then, this is the part where you tell me how and why what you’re doing is working, tell me how much they are exactly going to make (with the clones they’re never bringing back) and then tell how you know clones are something Blizzard is going to do for money.

See, you’re implying that you know since you know I don’t know. So go ahead and tell me then, what are you waiting for?

It would help me with my skepticism seeing as your big game plan is to keep asking until you’re acknowledged - even though there are a million examples of people asking for a million things and never getting acknowledged at all let alone a receiving a direct or indirect response - so if that’s your failproof plan I don’t think you’re really in a position to lecture people on what they know. But Im all for you proving me wrong.

You have at least a couple hundred posts dedicated to the topic of clones and have never said one thing that elevates your platform above a large crate of really sour, salty grapes.

That’s what I mean when I say you don’t have a case outside of the stark naked reality of you not having a case. You go full contrarian without saying anything that isn’t an entitled request. You might want to get around to explaining why you think you should get clones back instead of trying to insinuate you know they’re coming back because Blizz likes making money.

If you want to talk about what we know here it is: They said they were retiring the service and its a more of a funeral because they were deleting the data and that was that - there’s no going back after this point, last chance - they’re words.

They retired the service.

No one asking for clones has seen so much as a vague tweet on the subject. Zero acknowledgement across the board. Those who reached out to customer support were told there’s nothing they can do - the same customer support that can bring back your old retail alt you deleted three years ago lol, for a fee.

There has been no official announcement on anything regarding the return of the service.

No one has had a clone restored after the retirement of the service.

Blizzard did nothing wrong and is in fact blameless for any and all situations where someone is lamenting the loss of the clone option. Someone is to blame though and they should try humbling themselves a little, if they knew what they were doing.

Irony isn’t your strong suit is it?

Its not enough to say it Arthie, you gotta like, explain it. That’s how it works. One reason is fairly straight forward - all of the hard evidence on subject disagrees with you. Im just the messenger.
