Classic characters permanently deleted?

They didn’t delete your character, no promise was made your server would be classic era in perpetuity. This is appropriate on activision’s part.

Classic is in the name. classic = no expansion. They essentially put my character in retail. I have zero interest in WOTLK or TBC servers. They did it as a cash grab for clones and to make people roll fresh after their characters were taken.

You also had the option of staying in classic for free if you could be bothered to log on in 2 years. Welcome to a non static online reality.

It really doesnt matter what your personal definition of classic is. They did not delete your character.

It’s not my personal definition. Classic WoW was released in 2019 as a version of WoW with no expansion packs. This is not subjective or something you can have a differing opinion about just because you feel like it.

Blizzard deleted characters. This isn’t something that’s debatable. They did it to make money.

Yes they were deleted
All clones that were not activated before July 26, 2022 were deleted

Elvis is also not coming back.

It’s right, it isn’t debatable, you are wrong.

Yes, the snapshot was deleted. Your original character was not.

As its been stated a million times already they weren’t deleted. They stayed on and progressed with the server you played on. So right off the bat you are knowingly putting it under false pretenses.

Yes, Blizzard said they would create and keep Era servers around forever even if there was only tens of people playing on them but the player had to make the decision to stay there. At some point over the course of nearly two years all you had to do is log in once and opt out of TBC or clone the character.

If you couldnt be bothered to do that for whatever reason you are not on the receiving end of any wrong doing by Blizzard. Its really that simple.

How many times, they are not deleted and gone forever. The inactive versions were removed from both Era and Wrath and if neither were active then they activated the Wrath Version.

Explain Classic Wrath then, isn’t that an expansion?

Seriously? How did Blizzard make money from it? They are in fact losing money as they could make money from people buying clones.

Once again, the realms they were on were updated to TBC, then updated to Wrath. Classic Era realms were NEW realms. If you didn’t choose to move to them for free then that is on you, not Blizzard.

Your misplaced anger is directed towards the wrong place.

Edit: And no, I’m not against cloning coming back, just people who don’t know what they are talking about and their conspiracy theories.

Theyre knowingly playing the victim card

Might I reference you sir, to the End-User license agreement which states that, among other things, you don’t own any of the data on your account, including your character. If Blizzard wanted to, they could completely delete every character that every player in the game has, and we can’t do anything about it because we accept the EULA to play the game.

I know I don’t have legal right over my characters, but blizzard has said in the past that they would never delete characters for inactivity. It even currently says it when you unsubscribe that your characters will be there when you come back.

They were deleted from classic WoW on the original server I made them on, and transferred to expansion wow

They never said that wouldn’t happen. Hopefully you learned a lesson about paying attention.

If you just played again as much as you cry on the forum you’d have a new 60.
