I recently made a 2nd account so I could power level an alt with my mage and have found out after the fact that classic characters can’t be changed between accounts. I didn’t want to pay long term for 2 accounts so I’m at a point where I have to decide to stop levelling my alt (level 30) or continue to pay for 2 accounts. Since the feature is available on live along with realm transfers it would be good to have this for classic wow. Any hope of this happening?
Nope.
So classic characters cant be transferred, but I can transfer a retail character to a “classic account,” right?
Nope.
Can’t you merge accounts?
You can merge battlenet accounts but not the classic accounts so you still need to pay for the 2 wow accounts
I disagree with this. They need to allow account to account transfers.
Glinda is a troll.
There are no classic accounts though, it’s just a bnet account. Everything merges.
I agree this mislead a lot of people. blizzard tricked people into paying for multiple subs not cool
Pretty sure Blizzard would prefer you pay 2 subs than 1 sub.
They know you’ll sub for months to level another character in Classic unlike retail where it matters less, since leveling is fast and pointless, and people can buy boosts
If enough people unsub alt accounts with “can’t account transfer in classic” as a reason and they bean count that allowing the transfers is more profitable than keeping those alt subs, then they’ll allow it.
/tinfoil
As if dual-boxing didn’t afford you a big enough advantage in-game…now you want to be able to dual-box THEN consolidate your characters into one account so you no longer have to pay for that advantage?
Just give us heirlooms already!

You could transfer from account to account in actual vanilla if you are no changes then you should support this
I certainly DO NOT remember this. Please provide evidence.
Actually just refer to this thread. Take a look at the blue posts.
Someone dualboxing to level other characters and then wanting to consolidate the characters into one account at a later date puts other players at a severe disadvantage and should not be allowed.
lol
You have always been able to transfer characters from one account to another if you are the owner of both accounts, which is why so many people were under the impression that you could and have alts now stuck on 2nd accounts. Blizzard misled us on purpose in attempts to milk another 15 dollars a month
That’s just not true man. You haven’t always been able to do that. Realm transfers for characters were available near the END of the Vanilla. I’m not sure when account transfers were available but I certainly don’t remember them in Vanilla or TBC.
You assuming something doesn’t mean Blizzard misled you, especially since they were transparent about transfer situations before classic launch.
Account to account was added in 1.11 it was not always in vanilla.
Yikes shills in full force .
The article mentions server transfers—not account to account transfers. Where do you get that account to account transfers were made available in 1.11? I would legitimately like to know now I am curious.
