It is true. You spouted off random fact number 37 because you are incapable of answering my question and try to deflect with an unproven, unsourced, irrelevant “fact”.
This is not how you have a discussion with someone. This is not how you convince anyone. This is not how you get RDF in the game. Why do you think it’s been 2 years now?
“uhhh well this irrelevant thing happened, that doesn’t answer your question, and i also have no proof of it happened, and i cant explain what happened either” isn’t convincing. Not to me or to Blizzard, sorry to say.
Correct, I don’t want to discuss things with people that are incapable of having a discussion because they do not know how to engage with someone in a relevant manner, so they attempt to deflect with irrelevant facts that they’ve made up.
Yeah, a few people say they wouldn’t mind if rdf was added or even that they’d happily embrace it. Then all the rest of the time they spend attacking pro-rdf people and never have a criticism of anything those against it say. They’re just lying and their posts show who they really are.
Simple solutuon for you. If they add rdf and they have rewards included, just delete the reward. You are the same as the ppl that think we all should pay more taxes but then stand there looking off into space when asked why you dont just attach a check for an additional amount when you do your tax return.
It is a good thing that they dont listen to you. They know that whatever they chose to do with rdf it will not change your choice that you have to JUST NOT USE IT AT ALL.
The only extra rewards are basically non existent. 2 extra emblems that arent the current tier emblems isnt a game breaker, and another 24-29 gold is worse than just doing a daily that takes less time and can reward more gold.
"To be completely honest, [the Looking For Group tool] is a feature I wanted in the game when we launched the game. I was really unhappy when we didn’t have it when we first shipped, so it’s been 5 years coming. Maybe it wasn’t the number one thing I wanted in, but it’s definitely one of the top 5 things that I wanted in the game. It’s actually our third try at a proper LFG tool, and this one gets it right. With the Meeting Stones, we didn’t put enough attention into it, we just tried to jam it in, and people didn’t use it. The second tool, it ended up being compromised feature – we tried to cater to too many different audiences.
As for the community question, I used to … I think that 5 years ago, I would have answered this question differently than I would today. I was all about preserving the small realm communities, but already… Well, look at Battlegrounds, it’s a good case in point, because it doesn’t diminish social relationships that matter on a realm. Sure, everyone can bring up “that one guy” that they know, the ninja looter who stole his stuff. But I think your real community isn’t the whole realm, but it’s your guild and the friends you group with, and the cross-server LFG won’t undermine that at all. The Dungeon Finder – by the way, I think we just renamed it the Dungeon Finder last night – We designed it in such a way that it serves the need for guilds and groups and friends. You don’t have to always [join a Pick-Up Group]. If there are four guildies in a group who just need a fifth, they can do that. You can also use it if even you have a full five-person party.
Or, you can do it if you’re on your own and just want to run something, so I don’t think it diminishes it at all"
-Rob Pardo on Random Dungeon Finder and how he, as someone who worked on WoW during wrath and earlier, views the RDF. Including that a similar MM system was wanted on game launch.
Being honest, for me it jsut needs a nice XP reward in leveling. This is how retail baits attendance in dungeon.
If open world was better…people would spam the crap out of WOD or legion. these 2 chromie time runs give very nice open world xp sources.
Like retail’s LFD. Give it xp motivation and no special rewards beyond that…your idea is very fair. Retail gives some extra gold too. That could be given up or reduced in amount.
And at level cap and heroic lfd…it was for quest reward. Retail heroic lfd doesn’t really carry much of reward. its run for some daily/weekly quest completion.
By second season even the gear is crap. Unless you really just hate pvp…you’d go get this on an alt really. It could be faster than dungeon RNG really.
So no item/currency for upgrade reward is fair here. It’s pretty much what retail has in place now anyway. All of retails legit carrots on sticks start at M0 really. Which is lfg lol.
im not against an rdf. i just don’t want rewards added to it that makes it feel necessary to use. some gold sure whatever, not necessary. adding emblems you can’t get without using rdf, thats the kind of thing i dont want to see.
Dungeon Finder is the “Looking for Dungeon” (LFD) system Blizzard introduced in patch 3.3.0
Patch 3.3.0 is a content patch that included Icecrown Citadel as a new raid instance as well as three 5-player dungeon wings in the Frozen Halls. Patch 3.3 was to be the last major patch before the release of World of Warcraft: Cataclysm.
I think it has been suggested to do just the opposite. Give a reward to those that form a group manually.
The reason for the reward in the past has been to encourage ppl to use something. Remeber there used to be weekly rewards for killing a raid boss. They wanted ppl to ger into raids. I think its pretty obvious that the overwhelming majority want and would use rdf. So no reward is needed. But it might be necessary to give tanks and healers something to shorten que times.
The problem with that is when they did this before, they only added the reward when there was a high demand for tanks. I was a tank. I started to avoid queing until the reward was available. Im sure other tanks did the same. Basically, creating the shortage until the reward was available.
Cataclysm is not a classic expac and there is no interest in cataclysm among the exclusive classic playerbase. We aren’t going to get cataclysm, most likely just a reset of the triology.
