We are gathered here today, to NOT celebrate BM Hunters, a spec with best ability was being able to MOVE WHILE CASTING and thus their damage and utility was buried down in the gutter and any requests to change that were always rejected with the above lame excuse!
Please give Prot Pally resource gen on Avenger’s Shield again or rework/remove Holy Power.
The loss affects more than just mitigation, it reduces the utility of a paladin to offer supportive raid healing, it reduces our overall damage, and it kills the AS playstyle and AS Procs, as AS will be lowest on priority as they do not generate resource.
With nerfs to AS, why play paladin when warrior playstyle will pretty much be the same and is the stronger of the two.
Why are we going backwards in an expansion that is supposed to be moving us forward.
My understanding is that this “nerf” was meant to adjust SoTR uptime, but it does more than that. A simple fix for SoTR would be to give it 2-3 charges (like shield block) and 2 charges of WoG with the 3 SoTR giving free proc, give SoTR a CD for your desired uptime and remove holy power entirely. If you want our mitigation to play like a Warrior shield block or DH demon spikes, design it like the warrior and DH.
Holy Power and SoTR need to be looked at, not resource gen on a top tier ability.
Imagine using prepatch raid data instead of beta data.
The mental gymnastics people go through to villafy warlocks to justify their own upsetti spaghetti attitudes about changes.
You are literally delusional and ignoring all available data and logs. They were maybe top 3rd or 4th dps. Also, frankly I don’t care how well they were doing in instanced pvp, that should have entirely separate tuning.
Actually all the logs I’ve seen have shammy at 3rd or 4th too dps. Please show me these logs you are referring to?
Another thing
Prepatch balancing is a joke but could you guys go one second without sucking off warlocks?
I hate warlocks!!!
Dear Devs
The 25% blanket nerf to enhancement seems too heavy handed especially without any sort of explanation. A 10-15% nerf is understandable. Anything beyond that as a aura nerf is simply overkill.
If there is an issue with certain individual talents or spells, it would be better to have a closer look at them and make changes accordingly. However this blanket nerf is just too much to even look at.
I would like to kindly ask you to reconsider your stance on enhancement nerf and make rational changes, not absurd ones.
Thank you
Ah my mistake I thought you were talking about enhancement. Apologies for the patently untrue comment. Yes WW is an example of a spec that is actually an outlier.
Enhancement was in no way deserving of the nerf they got
Imagine responding to someone’s post stating that enhancement prepatch damage is too high by citing actual pre-patch data?
Affliction is being propped up by Fated systems, not by the core kit. Enhancement is that strong without any help from that.
so Disc is still the most work of any healer to be competitive and again and again they get gutted…once the xpac drops and were reset to like 7% haste the class is going to be trash. yet the easy healing classes like druid and shamen carry on as is
What’s the point of this? This isn’t a nerf, this changes the core spec, now BM relies on RNG, it isn’t good at all…
It feels a slap on Hunter class, that asked a lot of changes on the tree, and got nothing, and now after Blizzard anounced that won’t change, they managed to make it worse.
You sure that wasn’t a typo? MM isn’t even viable right now, ST is so terrible, and AoE isn’t that good.
Prepatch numbers dont matter
All the prepatch data shows enhance below affliction in many scenarios, as well as below WW. So why are they getting absolutely dumpstered?
I’m genuinely confused by the discipline tuning.
First, Evangelism has been a core component of Disc gameplay for years. Treating it like a 3m CD other healers have is really rough when our AoE healing toolkit is very limited.
Second, if we have a limited AoE healing toolkit and Evangelism is a 3m, then I’d expect Radiance, our main multi-person atonement applier, to get a substantial buff. So shocked to see the atonement duration get nerfed instead. Especially because we can now only extend atonements every 3 mins, Radiance atonements are too short to fully utilize in other ramps.
Third, if the devs don’t want frequent big ramps anymore and don’t want Radiance to allow for extended bits of healing, then I’d expect a bit more damage output to compensate. We have a very, very narrow window to AoE heal (7.5 seconds). But then I see that Mindgames damage was nerfed, and nerfed even harder than for the other priest specs.
Fourth, if they don’t want big ramps, want to restrict Radiance effectiveness, and don’t want quick bursts of damage / atonement, then I’d expect the rest of the toolkit to be buffed to compensate and/or have significant mana reductions, seeing as Disc is the most mana-starved healer. Instead, Radiance’s negligible healing was buffed to still be negligible (and requiring us to give up more frequent Radiances), mana costs increases in the previous tuning, and nothing else changed.
I understand the need to tune output if discipline was too powerful in the beta, but these changes have seemingly gutted the core aspects of the spec’s gameplay without offering an alternative.
Enhancement is being propped up by borrowed power, and secondary stats it will be losing in DF (mainly massive levels of haste). Which makes me hope this nerf is literally only for pre patch and will be reverted on launch. Knowing blizzard even if its meant to be reverted it wont be until one year into the new expansion.
As someone that has been playing a lot of enhance shaman during pre-patch in keys a big portion of the damage I am doing is because of still have Shadowlands legendaries and conduits. This 25% nerf is a big overreaction and relegates the class I have mained since TBC back to Windfury bot. This is extremely discouraging, I am with everyone else in the 12-14% club. That would have been more reasonable, some justification is definitely needed for this.
If you look at pure ST fights, the specs that got nerfed are absolutely blasting and they don’t have access to the 5 extra talent points on top of it.
Saying it is being propped up by borrowed power is a bit disingenuous as most the borrowed power is just being folded into existing talents (such as Conduits or some Covenant Abilities) and it isn’t like Shaman won’t have Tier in DF to replace the current SL tier.
WW and Enh were doing a lot of damage and needed to be touched.
Thank you for sub rogue buffs. I was feeling a bit weak.
