Rets a top tier ranking class you don’t need anymore help, be honest with yourself and stop wanting a “I win button with zero skill”
Or more realistically they’re not talking about PvP, which you’ve already at this point said is the only thing you care about.
survival didn’t really need buffs but I’ll take it
kinda perplexed by ret though
wasn’t aware it was doing so poorly to warrant multiple 20%+ buffs on a lot of their main damage spells
even more baffling is that they didn’t catch pvp exclusion tags for the same spells
Ret’s damage is super spread out across a lot of sources though so it still only works out to like 5% taking a quick look at top logs damage breakdowns.
I don’t know that their burst AoE needed it, but ST definitely did.
WOW! Guess i’ll hop back on my pally with these buffs.
Ah, that makes more sense when it’s explained like that
Give holy prism from torghast and a 20% buff to all healing plus base mana regen and we will b ok
While some changes are good, many of them are controversial.
Not sure whether it is an attempt to bring armor more in line in PVP or address specifically damage curves of Hunter, but this does not seem thought out enough. Some consequences of this change which were not addressed:
- Already tanky Warlocks get even more tanky and somehow will have more mitigation against physical damage than plate wearing classes (that is not even a speculation - it was calculated in a post on arena forums).
- Already vulnerable to physical damage Death Knights will get blasted by it even more.
Another change that while might be useful or warranted for some classes, as a general change it could have potentially unintended impact:
- Warlocks already spam Fear and cast offensive spells into it. If this change would allow them to not break Fear with first cast’s damage, they might abuse that.
- Warrior’s Intimidating Shout and Evoker’s Landslide upgrades did not get compensatory nerfs to their damage thresholds and might be affected by damage in too low extent after the changes.
Just why? I don’t think they have any additional armor in talent trees and if they equip a shield they get reduced damage / healing output already.
Rigid Ice is already a talent that is not taken much in neither PVE nor PVP and this change makes it even less competitive. Should be entirely replaced or made into a choice node with other talent.
Frost Mages don’t play 4 set not because it is nerfed in PVP, but because it is both unreliable and tied to a cast of a spell that most enemies would have sound effects activated to being cast in PVP and try to stop with most means possible. Unnerfing it does not change that much, so it is still not likely to be played much more. Please take that into account when designing future tier sets and picking tier set for Season 4 (where letting players pick the tier set from all three seasons in game seems like the best solution to satisfy both PVE and PVP players) - if you don’t create separate tier sets for PVE and PVP, then at least their effect should be decently usable and useful in both PVE and PVP.
But they’re not limiting it to just PVE so theres that IDK
Big Destro lock buffs wow, S+ tier destro locks in every shuffle game i play next patch LOL if i do even bother to queue that is
Random thought,
Looking at the pvp changes further down, the warrior change looks different. In every other change, it mentions “in PVP,” except the warrior change to anger management.
Someone could have just put the warrior changes under the wrong heading, and instead Blizz is changing Anger Management into better cdr in pve aswell.
Eh, they can’t forget about something that doesn’t exist to them.
Beast Master - Needs a damage nerf for aoe if anything. Don’t touch their single target.
Marksmanship - Needs an aoe buff, and single target buff less so.
Survival - Damage is not the problem I agree.
What? Really?
Why is Ret getting buffed again? They are already performing above average… These arms buffs gotta be about 30% dmg buff before anyone would think about bringing a warrior over a paladin.
Feral, shadow, arms, RET?? I’m done trying to compete in damage, this game is so sloppily balanced.
We all just gonna sit back and pretend like they didn’t just completely ignore DH nerfs for PvP…
whoever advocates for warriors at Blizzard is asleep at the wheel, been passed out drunk for a long time now…might be time to check and see if they are still even breathing.
These specs got buffed because they were below all the other specs, what are you on?
All of these: Feral, Arms, UHDK, FDK, Ret, Shadow and Surv were last (aug doesn’t count, it’s got broken hooks) and were buffed.

Blizzard is actually watching logs now and buffing appropriately.
Raid is over. Progress is done. Every class was represented on fyrrak.
So what’s your point? As a wise man once said. Frankly it’s a skill issue. They game is unbalanced in m+ that’s all. Raids were always fine and easy to tune
Then what’s your problem in them buffing classes if it’s all over?
It’s a cap issue on the classes/specs, you can clearly see who has the higher damage in the charts.
Raid is not over until next season / raid tier comes out.
