Clarification ticket

where can I or how can I submit a ticket, on something I would like some clarification on a few things, been looking and I don’t see where that option is anymore

Depends on the issue can u tell us what u need clarification on.

It depends on what you are looking for clarification on, Coldpaws. Game Masters aren’t able to provide what we consider game hints, that’s information on items, quests, mobs, drop rates, most game mechanics, etc…

If you can give us an idea of what your questions are, perhaps we can better direct you.

its a ingame issue, I wanna see some rules and stuff related to pvp, and pushing religious beliefs etc onto a person, and one other thing that I wish not to disclose

Depends on what you mean, the rules for PvP are out there… mostly it is anything goes.

This should be reported by right click reporting for spam or language, there is no place for religion in WoW.

Not sure how we can help with this, we would need to know what kind of issue it is. Nothing you have stated so far would be something that would need a ticket to be opened about it.

A bit more on this: the GMs aren’t there to have a chat about the rules that you want to know. Blizz had posted them on their website for everyone to see. More to the fact: the Gms isn’t going to find a rule(s) for a player. They’re there to help with account and billing issues.

True. While your fellow players in this forum probably can help you find rules, since that’s what this is here for. Just need a little more detail.

There aren’t many rules around PVP. Here’s a support article related to PVP:

Things players tend to ask about, is whether or not ganking is okay and it is. Is it okay to kill NPCs over and over, for the most part yes (unless it goes on for days).

Also note, most PVP issues have a PVP solution.

While vague, if you mean people using public chat to discuss religion, you can right-click and report for language.

Edit: One last thing that I think I’ll add, is that “griefing” is not something that Blizz recognizes in WoW as it tends to mean “anything someone else is doing that upsets me”. PvP happens on PvP servers.

Hard to advise without details, but here are some things people sometimes don’t want to disclose and some things you can do about them.

  • Real life threats: I think there’s a ticket category for that, and they are given high priority.
  • In-game harassment: right click report, then /ignore the player. If they do things to get around the ignore (like making new characters you haven’t ignored), that’s a ticket for ongoing harassment.
  • Observed hacking/cheating: best is right click, report for cheating. I believe there’s also a ticket option for that, or if all else fails you can email hacks@blizzard.com.
  • Want to know why you received an account action: a GM won’t tell you that. You can appeal until they tell you to stop appealing (instructions to appeal should be in the email they sent you about it) but they won’t tell you exactly why. If you read the TOS and other rules and you really can’t figure out why you were actioned, you can ask here - just realize this isn’t your chance to argue your case. Only to get clarification.
  • Thinking of doing a thing that you aren’t sure if it’s against the rules: I don’t think a GM would answer this, but people here usually have a pretty good idea. There are a few gray areas that people here might not be sure about, but a GM definitely isn’t going to give you an answer in that case. If you’re hesitating to ask because that little voice in your head is telling you maybe I shouldn’t post about this behavior in public, chances are very high that you shouldn’t do that behavior at all. Listen to the voice!

What have I missed, that people sometimes come here and don’t want to disclose?

the thing I do not want to disclose, I need to know how much evidence is needed before I can submit

Practically none, as none is accepted. The only thing that a GM will use in an investigation, depending on the issue you do not wish to disclose, is what they can find with in the game logs. Anything out of the game won’t help, especially discord, skype, etc…, as they can be modified by the submitter. The in game logs can not.

As Kozzae mentioned, you don’t need any evidence as we do not accept third party evidence. All verification must be possible from in-game chat/logs.

Also, Blizzard isn’t going to take action for stuff someone did on a platform they don’t control.

I think last time something like this came up, it was mentioned that you can submit screenshots, but they’re not going to take action based on it. The screenshot would just be used to help them figure out what logs to look at.

You don’t collect evidence. Blizzard does.

Honestly it sounds like most of your problems can be solved by using the right click report button and the ignore feature.

No one can “push” their beliefs on you . Put them on ignore.

You chose not to disclose your PvP issue. But? PvP happened is usually the answer.

Your secret issue? You’re not an investigator. Report your suspicions, because that’s all they are, and move on.

You’re not going to get a one on one with a GM to clarify their policies.

That’s what this forum and the support pages are for. Internal policies on the other hand are just that. They’re not for general disclosure.

….right a person that can go around slandering, impersonating a gm, impersonating a blizz employee, defamation of character, and a few other things, that’s why I wanted to ask a blizz gm, what I needed cause I was thinking on legal action against this person

edit that’s what I didn’t want to disclose

Right click and report and put them on ignore.

Otherwise it’s just drama. Drama you are chosing to participate in.

  1. Slander and defamation is rather hard to prove and is often most things lawyers won’t touch.
  2. Folks done it before in the past and is easy to see though it.
  3. Again, GMs ain’t there to ask about stuff, nor they are lawyers. Go talk to one to learn what they can do.

Both of these are against the rules. They can be reported via right-click report for language (I think that’s the best option).

As for defamation of character or slander, unless inappropriate language is involved, just put them on ignore. Unless they’re trying to bypass ignore, which is taken very seriously when reported, then it’s actually more of a conversation and not any sort of harassment.

Simply put, do not reply to them, put them on ignore and if they bypass that there’s a ticket option for Ongoing Harassment which a GM will look into if the player is bypassing ignore. If you don’t have them on ignore, then it vastly limits what a GM can do.

Then talk to a lawyer, not a GM. They’re not legal experts.

We do tend to take that pretty seriously. If the chat took place in-game, it can be reported.
