Math, if you run a dungeon (outside of abusing having dead level 1s in a party much like naowh) and having equally leveled players, you finish a dungeon killing every single mob and you get not even a third of a bar of exp.
The group is better off without that tank then and can still find another tank.
How would rdf fix this then?
The tank joins rdf, finds out he got a “bad” group and would either leave and eat the debuff or hold the group hostage to force them to kick him so he can queue again without deserter. Everyone is better off without those tanks in their group. So when i see the “lfm for nexus sunwell gear required” i know thats not a group i want to be in so i look elsewhere and i am better off for it.
But again, thats not gatekeeping. It doesnt stop you from making your own group.

Imagine leveling an alt from level 1 without a boost! GASP You’ll be lucky to get a group for a RFC.

Literarily the same as:
'You are not allowed to run this dungeon with us, even though you are proper level, have some gear and know your class, because your gear is not good enough."
That person is free to make their own group.

The source is the game itself, go get 4 other 71s for a group of utgarde, kill every mob and boss and see how much EXP you get.
Right, so there’s no difference between LFG and RDF when you’re in the dungeon right? You get kicked if you are afk or you wipe the group…
So then just give us RDF.

you were kicked my dude for being undergeared. DPS gear is undergeared if you are a tank.
You forget that the proposed scenario presumes that there are no other group or players looking to run N dungeon, outside of alts, most players will be running H dungeons at 80 so why bother joining an N group hmm? Logically speaking There are no attunement processes for any H dungeon and the only dungeon that has “attunement” for H is ICC and its simply killing LK on N.

No, I chose Tank and they saw me in my DPS gear and thought I was there to DPS. You can’t really try to lecture me on the mind of party leader who I personally whispered about it, but it’s funny to see you try.
If you read his post, he clarifies later that he was probably kicked because he played with donkeys who disagreed with him grabbing a quest that they couldn’t.
Things like that would happen in LFG too.
The only thing RDF does is help put a group together with random players, once you’re in the group you can get kicked for various reasons regardless if you formed the group with RDF or LFG.
On average, people just do not get kicked from groups with or without RDF. How often do you see people posting “I got kicked from a group” vs “I can’t get a group going”

I find that hard to believe, but I will acknowledge that there’s players that don’t know they have to manually select their roles.
But regarding it, you didn’t bother will telling them you are legitimately tanking or contest it. You didn’t bother with it, if you claimed to be a tank, they should have let you in right? but no, they looked at you and booted you. That’s gatekeeping.
Its a non scenario, there are thosands of other players. Sure you can have bad timing for trying to do X content, but then, i dont log in at 3am and expect grouping to be as easy as 5pm. Nor do i join a game at the end of an expansion and expect the old world content to be alove and hopping. The game is designed that eventually noone will be looking for a group for lvl 15 dungeons. Thats not gatekeeping. Thats just the nature of the game.
Which is why RDF is a needed system, and it will be a scenario when you have people trying to get an N utgarde and can’t because there aren’t players for it.
You forget that most people will be doing Hs at 80, the only people running Ns are ungeared or leveling players.
The very nature of mmorpgs is killing old content by the simple nature of being max level.
