Game has always been this way, it’s just worse now because people have played this game for years and know every single thing. I guaranteed if most of you had Sunwell gear you’d be doing the same thing. Just because people want to be efficient and get ahead of the curve doesn’t mean there is gatekeeping. Just start your own group PROBLEM SOLVED.
I go out of my way to invite rogues and spriests to my groups and I never look at anyones gear.
Everyone deserves to play, especially leveling content.
If things had been this way when I first started playing, I probably wouldn’t be here today.

It is not sunwell gear, it is brutal glad gear people farmed during pre-patch. But seriously , I have 4 level 70 they not all gona have brutal gear. There got to be a point you should expect people in quest greens.

I don’t even have one piece of Sunwell on this toon. Just brutal and blues from wrath, but I make my own groups and everyone is leveling right now so most people want to be efficient and get the best they could. Once everyone is an 80 running heroics it won’t matter. As far as taking rogues/spriests in a dungeon spam group I can agree with that…most people don’t want classes that don’t do insane aoe. I ran with a rogue in Old Kingdom who got replaced by a boomkin and the clear difference was insane. You are doing God’s work, I unfortunately just want to ding 80 asap because I barely have the time to play and have to wait in queue everyday.
ITT: Players don’t want other players to play this game.
You’re asking people to be in raid gear for entry level dungeons.
UK is level 68 to even start it up LOL.

I love how people doing the gatekeeping conveniently ignore the fact that what people really resent is the sweaty elitism that’s at the root of it. you think you’re better than other players bc your pixels are slightly more purple than everyone else’s
bruh pleeeease, you didn’t actually slay any dragons or demons to get those pixels. you’re a nerd at home in your sweatpants eating cheetos and playing a video game. have some perspective and self awareness. elitism in video games is one of the most pathetic things in existence and people don’t like being forced to put up with it in any capacity, no matter how passing.
if you want to be that choosy about who you invite to your groups, don’t look for pugs. you’re going to irritate people with your sad sweatiness.
edit: and for that anyone thinks this is just temporary for the leveling experience and won’t be even more prevalent in the heroic spam at 80, I’ve got a bridge to sell you.

It was like this in original wrath too, maybe not to the same extent but I remember not being able to get into the top guilds because one of my professions wasn’t bis. We all have dealt with this, even in TBC people would not take me for ZA. I had to form my own group and gear up then I had no problem. You can join a guild or make friends there are plenty of options. I for one work 50+ hrs a week and want to ding 80 asap because I barely have the time and have to wait hours in a queue.
For the rest of the class: this is a good example of ignorance. I will demonstrate gatekeeping access to my time and attention by not engaging with the troll bait.
Incorrect, you are stll capable of running the dungeon unless you’re saying EVERYONE is doing this.

Actually you are not, the leader of each group decide who joins the group, there is no larger body that is deciding that.

Just did a run thru AK (Old Kingdom). Went with three friends who I used to play retail with. They were in sunwell gear. I was in quest reward gear. We randomly picked someone from lfg. They too were well geared. We were in discord together. Invited them but they didn’t join.
They inspected gear and whispered to the tank ‘why are you playing with them (me) - they in noob gear’. We laughed on discord and decided to give them a fun time.
After the first boss they were lowest on dps in a high dps class and spec. We started teasing openly. They didn’t like it.
Then I asked ‘Is you name Shanxi?’ - the new nick name for very silly wanna be elitists. ‘Who is Shanxi?’ they asked. A wanna be elitist said the tank. They went very quiet. It did not help their dps. Others wanted to boot them but nah.
Hmmmm.

None of those really add up man.
Someone declining you from thier group is not preventing your access to the dungeon.
While they have control of thier own group they do not have control over your ability to do the dungeon.
They dont have the power to restrict your access to the dungeon.
