I’m in the same boat. I like the Venthyr for the theme but those owl people on Kyrian are calling my name.

I have 11 “mains” that I play constantly, so I imagine that when the time has come to pick a covenant I will have picked all of them spread out amongst all of my toons.

So yes, yes you are (soft)locked out of this content unless you decide to play alts or pay the “steep price” (let that be gold, or the shear amount of time to rebuild the reputation) to reroll.

I’ve never understood why they go against freedom to switch roles when the industry goes far into the opposite direction; and doing so becomes respectful of their customers’ time.

I got kids and my wife is already not entirely happy with how much time i play. Forcing an increase to time played just to continue playing the content I’ve already been playing just pushes me away from the company. It also doesn’t motivate me to bring in any new players.

And if we can swap and need to start the campaign again it’s much easier to do now since you don’t need a whole new character.

You can call that being “locked out” if you want, but that’s in your mind.

I was taking being locked out related to content where you play different roles.

I tank for mythic raiding - but that’s not really viable in pvp (arena). So i have to compromise on one so i can be optimal at the other? Why gimp me and anyone who plays with me in the compromised content?

which Covenant are you most interested in?

Hopefully, the choice actually is which one do you like to play and doesn’t come down to which one sims best in raids. I feel like it will come down to which one sims best.

I say let us unlock, for example, the Venthyr for blood, the Kyrian for frost spec and Necolord for unholy and when you switch specs your covenant allegiance switches with it?

That seems like a decent compromise.

If there’s a decent difference in performance within the same spec- say raid vs pvp healing- it would still suck to have to keep paying to change, but at least a good chunk of the issue would be addressed reasonably.

Most of my guild thought azerite gear would work that way since legion tier sets worked that way.

I hope they go back in the direction legion took. Tanks are always in demand - allowing players the ability to help out the community by switching roles without charging them would be greatly appreciated.

where is the write up showing what’s been revealed of the covenants so far? i can’t find it…

edit: nevermind i found it. all of their armor sets look stupid to me from what’s been shown so far, so unless they have different variations i’ll probably go with whatever covenant’s abilities sim the best and disregard everything else.

I heard that his realm actually was in the Night Fae zone. The Other Side is evidently a dungeon, so I really am hoping we get info on what happened to Rezan, Shadra, and the other dead Loa like Hakkar.
