Chief Diversity,Equity, and Inclusion Officer

The job no man wants to do so its always a woman lol

Well, they are in California. Who other than a political commissar is going to lead the necessary struggle sessions to stay on the right side of the state’s insane agencies?

I didn’t, but I briefly did that as a job. In the interview they asked for my work experience and I just told them I did LFR in WoW and got the job. They knew I was well experienced with carrying trash. Somehow that meme answer got me the job because the dude interviewing me played WoW and appreciated my sense of humor.

Not the most glorifying job, but a check is a check and it’s actually really chill for a job, just isn’t glamorous.

My friends working on California big tech Companies say this is the most useless position in the company

Majority of what these officer says remains purely on paper and weren’t able to implement any of it in real

It wasn’t my intention to put it down by any means. I was just commenting on the assertion that women don’t aspire to carry trash, when it’s not something a lot of people dream of from either sex. That doesn’t mean it’s not necessary work or that it’s not a good way to make a living, but like you said, not glamorous.

Congrats to her! I wish her all the best in her role; may she make it great. :white_heart:

This will have little to no impact on the game. HR positions do not work or understand how to work the production jobs.

This is just the new PC way to say Human Resources. The big movement to say people, not resources. Even in Microsoft Teams, they changed participants to people in the UI. Well not everywhere because their UI UAT is clearly terrible.

Sorry, I’ve been away from the computer, I didn’t see a response or an apology. Are you capable of discussing why hiring the best person for the job is probably better than hiring based on looks- or you’re only capable of shooting blanket insults?

So you’re replying to me mechanically, but I posed a question that you did not address. Does this mean you do not remember when Blizz used to hire the best person for the job then?

I understand that you’ve been emotionally worked up due to some personal problem of yours, but there’s really no need to throw thinly veiled insults at me, or change the topic if you’re going to ‘reply’ to my comment.

You’ve done nothing to create a safe and inclusive environment.

Don’t use examples that are going to destroy your own argument.

So I see you get my point. How many women aspire to work in tech? Tech nerds and video gamers like us know a LOT of tech women, but once you leave the tech work you would be shocked at the “normies”. I have people I work with TODAY who got mad they now have to pay their rent online and why can’t they use cash. Short version: people are different.

this is why I have continued the conversation with you despite you ONLY giving the standard responses from an ideologue. an NPC. You try to fit me into being an NPC of your opposition because I don’t see things your way but I am not. I am an independent thinker who uses facts learned in college combined with 40 some years in the workforce. I am not a conservative and will not respond like one. to put myself politically, I am close to Bill Mahr on many topics.

The reason I stated women were not there for the tech is I have met very few women who loved tech so much they did it outside of work. Sure they did it at work, and some were very good at it. Many men were very similar. However, there were a large subset of men who spent their time and money working with tech outside of work - they simply loved tech that much.

Actually, I am saying there are factors in why things go the way they do. Maybe just maybe, there are women who focus more on their kids (not because they have to but because they want to ) than their husbands - or some single dads like me that had to. That effects performance to a similar level. Also, there is a reason why their are women sports and men’s sports - very few have a similar level of competition.

I care about that if a) women want those roles and can’t get them, or can’t get them as easily as men
Again, only concerned about women.

Men are constantly pressured by society into taking roles that are against their interests in order to survive, provide for a family or simply to pay a non-working ex wife so they don’t go to jail. Men are forced to work, produce and earn every day - women have a choice to do it or not. Men simply don’t have that choice.

Again we want very similar things, yet somehow you are arguing we don’t. I want women to succeed as well and be on equal footing at the start of the race. Where we differ and I draw the line is you seem to be arguing that you want every to end in the same spot at the end of the race.

Its more than that. The corporations figured out that if they pitted poor white people and minorities against each other they could make it out of this dangerous time, or really make the great recession permanent along with their ever increasing share of the US economy.

I’m not implying anything I didn’t ask. What I asked was do you remember when the game was really good because they hired based on talent, passion and merit instead of looks, plumbing, and preference?
Perhaps the person in the article is great at seeing USA is 75% white, Western and Chinese gamers are 75% male and making a great decision based on that data. Unlike you, this person’s skin colour and plumbing isn’t important to me.

White jokes, that’s where we are in 2022 presumably discussing DEI :+1:t5:

If you’re going to ‘reply’ to me (especially in multiple posts?) then answer the question I asked at minimum plz.
Your multiple scathing and disorganized responses shows you’ve obviously been emotionally triggered. Is it best to write back in that state? Write back in white person jokes?
Who appears more hireable right now, you or me? Do you think Kristen Hines should hire you or hire me given the decision?

It was an analogy for folks who don’t understand the problem with hiring based on looks, plumbing and orientation, instead of hiring the best person for the job.

Weird, this isn’t the first time I’ve noticed you existing in forums solely for the sake of trolling :+1:t5:

Still smiling over the guy that said he didn’t want to change anything because the minorities may get revenge.

He basically acknowledged they don’t get a fair shake, but doesn’t want to do anything about it and justifies it with a fantasy cooked up by propaganda.
