"Checking logs" to "raid"

Haha funny, I use your snark to score devil points on the forum parses!

Because they don’t see other players as human. They see them as a means to play the game.

We’re gatekeeping them having fun. We’re there for them.

If the WoW playerbase had this mentality in Vanilla it would have probably peaked around a million players max.

It did.

Only a few guilds raided current content and if you didn’t perform (we had meters) you were benched or cut.

We made people get specific add ons too.

The difference is that a lot of people didn’t expect to raid or raid current content.

All these grey parsers outing themselves :joy:

The most hardcore guild in Vanilla didn’t min/max as much as the most casual guild in SoD. I was there too, by the way.

While it’s true that the vast majority of players didn’t raid in Vanilla, it’s also true that those did didn’t take it anywhere near this seriously. A warm body was the biggest component to being invited.

But the point is players used to actually be allowed to learn the game. You’d teach other players. They weren’t considered a liability. Look at some of these responses in the thread. Saying people are trolling because they’re not full bis. They’re ‘not respecting my time’.

Freaking chill out. It’s just a video game.

No thanks Nikki

They didn’t because resources weren’t as easily available. They still tried. The warm body thing was mostly the lower end trying to raid mc guild.

My guild rotated priests as shadow to check if other DPS were AFK. If the shadow priest beats you… No dkp. Imagine the tears if we ran raids and said if the frost mage beats you… No loot?

Yet you are allowed. Who says you aren’t allowed to learn? We didn’t have all the video guides in 2004/2005… Now we do.

Funny when these videos come from streamers/rank 1’s who have done this plenty of times in the past or form raids to funnel gear to them lmao.

definitely not for resto druids lol, we hit 50+% overhealing with the press of a single button

Thats not quite an equal argument.

Actual Vanilla did not have NEARLY the resources as we do now, ESPECIALLY in the min/max category. People ABSOLUTELY took it seriously, I too was there, and HUNTERS were some of the most sought after because of their natural ability to hit more often before people figured out how valuable hit rating was and a soft hit cap contributed far more to dps than any amount of stats could.

Vanilla also had a CLUSTER of monsterously bad mechanics/issues that made the game far harder than anyone remembers.
Priests couldnt shield people not in their party.
Paladins only had 5 minute blessings.
There were ZERO threat meter addons.
Paladins could only salve their OWN party.
Shamans were…just useless. Basically a totem bot.
Mobs could parry from behind.
Shaman reincarnation caused rez sickness.

There was a lot of stuff that is different between then and now.

I wish I could check logs IRL.

Would have saved me from a few of my grey parsing ex girlfriends.

so you only take people who pump and don’t do stuff like decursing I bet the button pushers LOVE going to your raids.

I do. I’m calling people that require log checking trash.

The only people that have a problem with log checking are the people who dont play well.

So how do you get logs if noone will take you? Thats the cringe part. Its not hard to see if someone is serious about the raid or not in other ways.

The content is piss easy btw. Kinda sad the parsers need these carries to join them and refuse to take anyone else lol

QFT!

Join a guild? Hello? This isn’t rocket science. Your second paragraph is just a childs attempt at a point.

just lead your own raids and don’t check logs. be part of the solution.

also dont create meta comps. enjoy the many wipes and failure to clear.

these people just want to join a free ride where they get carried by everyone else and are sad there’s a way for similarly skilled/geared players to play together

No it didn’t.
