"Checking logs" to "raid"

Just bandage. Gimping your DPS to save 6s or whatever seems nuts to me.

I don’t disagree. I’ve literally been kicked from an SM Cath run because I wasn’t close enough for the group leader’s liking. I’m level 40 with practically all BIS gear or adjacent and a mount. I just laughed and told the guy it was his loss and he put me on ignore :man_shrugging:t2: Had they waited, it would be ~13min runs through SM that I am willing to spam since I can make a decent amount of gold for very little work.

People are just impatient and if they believe for any reason you’re going to hinder their progress, they are against it. Specifically why I replied to the guy saying he checks logs. More power to him, but if they don’t understand the nuances, he’s rejecting people who may be doing other things to make the raid successful. I.e. the last Gnomer we did, we pugged a healer and a feral druid. Feral druid was helping with the buttons on Thermaplugg and even tossed out some heals. His DPS was extremely low because of this, but it was crucial to our successful run since we were melee heavy.

Why you gotta quote him? I was enjoying having no idea what he said.

Oh well, only read the first sentence… and yeh. He mad. He big insecure mad.

your right over coming adversity is a great thing and can be exciting and fun. the problem is after you have already killed it several times and now you are struggling with a boss that should be farm because people refuse to learn the mechanics. in retail we have a term for that its called re progging and its never a fun and exciting thing to go through.

Weird concept but you could just create your own group?

That honestly sounds hilarious.

“Ok, so maybe we go over the strat real quick.”

Oh I do. Not everyone levels their First Aid though. I also dispel like crazy in the third phase. My total dispels were 13 and that doesn’t count me using Freedom to remove the frost stacks on me in P2/4. While I may not being doing as much as a tank going full DPS runes, I am doing utility things that offer a benefit as well.

Buy a summon. If you can’t make 1gold in 15 minutes you need to up your game. Time is money friend.

I was saving to buy the plans and materials for my shield. If the group wants to speed things up, they can pay for me to get summoned. I’m a geared prot paladin that does SM in a handful of pulls, I’ll find another group instantly.

its sad. big issue with wow in all forms classic/wotlk/retail games been around to long turned to many people into elitists.

If you don’t understand the logic of buying a summon to SM in phase 2, I would question other aspects of your play as well. Go join another group, you won’t be missed.

New to WoW? It’s common knowledge in PUGS that “How can you kill a boss if you haven’t killed the boss before?”

Think of all the time AoTC was “required” because a garbage pug leader wanted a carry in retail.

So I should spend my gold because I decided to help the community level? Should I also buy them their mounts too?

Most of the time I am already in Silverpine or South Shore before I even look for a group. Sorry, if you can’t wait 5 minutes that’s on you.

In my personal experience, the people often upset by being measured in any capacity are generally the ones who have the worst measurements. No one parsing consistently blues and purples complains about logs. They’re usually too busy actually playing the game and they understand the purpose of logging/parsing as a tool.

I’ve had bad experiences in Gnomer. I’m a healer parsing purples and oranges, not because I’m some godly healer but because the pug healers I’ve played with were just absolutely trash and I end up mostly solo healing. Given how hard it currently is to find decent heals this has lead to us spending more time staring at the last boss in gnomer spamming LFG looking for a 2nd healer than actually pulling the boss.

This is why I check logs.

Start your own group, don’t check logs. If someone wants to check logs, let them. No one is forcing you to join a group.

Your social anxiety is the real gatekeeper, it’s keeping you from stepping up and running your own raid with no log checking.

Do whatever you like, I’m just going to judge you if you make bad choices. If you don’t understand that 1g is worth saving 15 minutes I question your ability to make good decisions, and your logs confirm my suspicions.

Again, if I am already in South Shore/Silverpine, it’s about 5 minutes. I don’t have to do SM for people. I do it to help groups in search of tanks. I get plenty of recognition from the groups that I run with and that’s all that matters.

I’m not the one hiding on a retail character so at least I have nothing to hide. Which I can also explain my logs, regardless if you like the answer or not. Still completed 6/6 every time I’ve ran Gnomer. That’s more than a lot of people can say.

Wow, they killed the 250 health bombs really good huh? Amazing I bet literally any ranged class could do the exact same thing, because they can and do, as well as do more damage throughout the rest of the raid.

People will justify anything. I have done the bombs on my warlock tank, it was super easy, I just spammed searing pain anytime the bombs came up, then went back to casting on the boss. AMAZING!

Imagine thinking I’m hiding anything.

Then cut healers, if your raid is that good, you just reduce the number of healers and bring more DPS. Alternatively, you can have your raid ignore mechanics and the healers heal through it so they do more DPS and kill the boss faster, thus increasing parses across the board in both scenarios.

I’ve said it in other threads. Grey parsers, “no logs” and “oh I did it on my alt 6/6 blah blah” are a mistake to bring. Unless your name is Gregheals and your alt is Gregrogue, then I will believe it is your alt. Otherwise, “I did it on my alt” = ignored.

Bring a grey parsing off tank? He’ll forget to pull the packs into the clouds and nearly wipe us on 1st boss. Bring a grey parsing feral? He won’t innervate the healer no matter how many times you ask him on discord. Bring a grey parsing priest? He’ll personally screw up the electrocutioner fight like 5 times.
