What is going on with the social contract or whatever in-game? I can just be sitting afk in a city on my phone or watching tv or whatever laying back in front of my laptop talking to NO ONE, no bad character names or whatever. Nothing. And I’ll keep getting those notifications you have to click on saying I was reported or something. Tuesday after maintenance I logged on and grabbed new weekly to run 1 heroic, queued up talked to literally no one entire time, ran heroic, turned in weekly, logged onto diff 80 and did it a 2nd time. Turned in weekly the 2nd time and immediately DC’d to a 7 day suspension. No email saying what I did. I talked to literally no one, not even guild chat. Submitted an appeal and got a copy/paste BS response. I’m just getting shadow reported and a 7 day ban for nothing.
REports can be from weeks to months ago did u check the spam folder for the email.
Curious if you happen to use a roleplaying addon and have questionable content in it?
As for AI reporting, or “shadow reporting” not such a thing. Nor is mass reporting going to get you actioned faster than a single report.
If you get a suspension, a report has been investigated by a GM before the action was applied.
Well, at least it’s seven days instead of 30. But this could’ve ranged from months ago to weeks.
Those popups you see probably weren’t for something you just were reported for.
We cannot even see them till they accumulate to a ticket - which this has.
NOW I can see the reports.
This suspension was for really inappropriate chat - including ‘custom’ emotes.
I suggest you follow the time tested rule and leave political, sexual and religious topics out of our game - which is mixed company, among strangers.
A Warning means you were reported by fellow players. It may or may not ever make it up to the level of the GMs. It is just something to let you know something you were doing caused reports from folks. Could be advertising, spamming, an addon that spams chat in groups, language you used, etc.
The Warning does not always show up in a timely way. It can be delayed. It also applies to the whole Bnet account so you can log in on Retail and the Warning pops - but it is actually for something in Classic you did.
A Suspension means it escalated past that and a GM reviewed report logs - then issued a penalty. The next one you get will be a longer Suspension. So you should probably sort out what you were doing so you can stop and avoid that.
This is also a great question! RP addon content can be reported if it is not appropriate for game.
Wait… custom emotes? I don’t even know what a custom emote is. Either way, EVEN if it’s somehow reports from who knows when… I don’t say even HALF the stuff everyone else says. Log on Illidan server right now horde side, watch LookingForGroup chat. Lol.

The masked profanity in the original post is also a violation. As far as what was or wasn’t said, Bliz goes by their logs, not by what others say.
I don’t report people for pixelated words.
Very true there are a lot of folks doing things they should not. Two wrongs don’t make a right though - very old saying. It is like speeding. A lot of people do it and only some get caught. Blizzard depends on reports from other players. They don’t watch chat looking for violations.
No, TWW has nothing to do with the real word. It is a fictional story. Leave any real word social, political, or religious stuff out of the game chat.
If you want to advocate for Basic Campfire for Warchief, or discuss Thrall that is certainly game related though 
My guess is you probably humored something into the discussion and got yourself reported for it. Whether it was one sentence or many.
Other people do, as you have learned.
They roll out the suspensions on Tuesdays for the previous week’s shenanigans. 
Account actions can happen at any time.
But you’ll get upset if someone blows wind out their mouth from their lungs and vibrates tissue in their throat to formulate words that insult you irl?
Any time I have gotten a silence it tends to be on a Tuesday.
This shifted real quick from ‘I don’t say anything’ to ‘I don’t say as horrible of things as other people say’
