I swear to god, I came into this thread because this is happening in my guild but not to me.
I look back to type in guild chat and root me blue, Ive got an old name showing on my main now too.
hitting “show offline members” in the guild panel shows an entirely new list of ‘online’ people at the moment below everyone else, without a zone, rank, note or ach points.
And now my main has the issue too! Definitely weird!

I’m having the same issues.
Unfortunately my guild who transferred a month or so ago is experiencing the same problem. I asked support for help and was basically told it wasn’t a problem if it wasn’t on the giant bug report thread and to pound sand.
The solution that we’ve found for directly whispering and inviting them is that you have to type their real name, not their former name. So if Jake-Stormrage moved and became Peter-Sargeras, you can’t right click the Jake-Stormrage in guild chat, you have to type /whisper or /invite Peter. If their name has 20 accent marks, well, it sucks to be you.
+1’ing here; this has been intermittently affecting my character and guild (I transferred my main 2+ years ago, and yesterday was showing with the old name and server). It seems resolved today, but has happened a couple of times in the last couple of weeks. There are multiple threads about this issue, but this one seems to have the most reports, so adding to it to hopefully help increase visibility.

Still bugged for me as well, I’m an officer in my guild and I can’t even see myself online, can’t change any character notes or change roles for anyone. My name shows up in guild chat as name-server, some guildees also see it this was when I type but can’t see me online, others it seems like normal and I show up without the issue.
still broken here of my 3 60’s 1 usually works, 1 is 25% of the time correct but my monk is never ever correct, other account is usually correct but sometimes not. cant do pretty much anything with guild officer abilities either…would be nice to get a blue post on this
Having the same issue with my hunter. She was transferred from another server years ago, and all of sudden, she’s showing up in guild as being part of the old server.
I have the same issue, as of right now. My characters don’t show up in the guild roster either.
Happening to me with 6 characters recently transferred.
Same thing happening to all my alts - even the ones who were transferred like 2 years ago. Causing a lot of issues. GM toons impacted by this cannot make adjustments to Guild recruit messages etc.
Has been happening to me since the day prepatch launched. It fixed itself after the wednesday maintenance, but then broke after the thursday maintenance again. I hope Blizzard at least states that they’re aware of the problem soon, because it’s a very frustrating bug.

Same here - and as GM I can’t do things in my own guild… lol
Broken for me again today, along with around 12 other people in my guild who show up in the roster as from another server. They’re only visible if I check “show offline members”, otherwise, it looks like we aren’t online, and right-click options in the guild UI don’t work.
Happening to me as well. Nice to see Blizzard is running true to form with its communication skills. Get your ducks in a row Blizzard.
Same issue, this is literally ridiculous. I cannot manage my guild because all my toons were transfers at one point and they’re all messed up! Showing old name and old servers.
