Chaos Orbs

I know it’s likely to fall on deaf ears at Blizzard headquarters, but can we please change loot rules so only people with 500+ profession skill can roll on the chaos orbs? I’ve run 8 or so heroics today and none of the people who have won an orb had anywhere near max skill. Had a druid with zero professions win a chaos orb in a BRC earlier. Please.

I am not sure what they’re for but I like winning them.

For some people its to sell them, AFAIK now not soul bound in this patch.
Which is why everyone needs on them and not being 100% maxed professions doesn’t stop anyone from being able to need on recipes etc Doesn’t stop others getting mad though, this is wow.

they are soulbound. can’t be sold. Which doesn’t make any sense because this is based off of patch 4.4 and they made them boe in 4.3 so probably a bug.

Thanks for the info, haven’t seen one yet
Well, the positive is orbs won’t be held to ransom by AH lords.
The downside, we’ll all have to hope we ‘lucky’
often.

I rather they were just on the AH to buy and use. Having them be soulbound is just annoying for everyone. No one wins.

The OP’s idea isn’t bad though. Even if they weren’t Soulbound only players that can use them should be able to roll.

It’s not a bug, Blizzard have said that it’s intentionally BoP.

It’s fine if you’ve had since day 1 of classic release to accumulate gold.
It’s fine if you’ve spent over a year in Northrend waiting for Cata
It’s fine if you’re ok with 6 orbs per wow token.

It’s fine. Maybe it’s a non issue.

It’s fine if you just don’t play the game, but why complain? If you played the game… you wouldn’t be on here saying this.

Basing off 4.4 is just so that they have the benefit of the most stable Cata version as a baseline. Content is (mostly) still rolled out in the same release phases as original Cata.
Binding settings on Chaos Orbs is considered part of content release phases.

I need on every chaos orb.

I think I’m up to like 14 or so at this point.

Going to be real frustrating relying on winning rolls on every professional and for every item they would likely craft using them.

Who’s to say they won’t have it later?

Just roll better

I didnt want to pve at all but i need dem eng goggles fer da arenas. Full pvp gear gonna stealth & hope nobody inspects lol. Just slide me one of those real quickkk

If people win them who don’t use them for crafting, it’s just effectively rationing the supply of the crafted items, which was kind of the reason Blizzard officially gave for keeping it BOP (maintaining rarity of those BOEs).

Taking things you have no use for from people who need them is pretty lame behavior.

That’s a weird take if that’s why, simultaneously limiting those who can craft using them even within the subset of people who can actually use them.

So the default is everybody will be needing them regardless. Good to know going forward, maybe it was this way originally, can’t recall.

If only the token covered a craft, im guessing I’ll need about 5 tokens worth to get something crafted, maybe 10 for BoE’s

I feel like a lot of people are either rolling on them without knowing what they are or, yes, without having put appropriate effort into their professions. I’d support a 500 CRAFTING (not gathering) profession limit to roll on them.

I’ve managed to win 1 Chaos orb in my capping. Just be nice if as a crafter if I could craft. Be nice to craft for other people. Chaos orbs just need to be BoE it just ruins professions otherwise.

Not to mention the point of Crafting is really the early Pre-Raid BiS start on some items and well that goes out the window due to no Orbs. It’s just dumb.

They need to fix Malestrom crystals too. Put them at the vendor. My Pre Raid BiS rings no JC can craft yet. Put chaos orbs and crystals at the vendor for 1,000 justice.
