Cataclysm “classic” is never going to happen

its alrdy been confirmed // woot !!!

kinda sux

and is the largest step toward retail of most xpacs?

soon shadowlands “classic”

And, hear me out, if you followed throughout the entirety of TBC classic you would have had the information already, which in fact is that Blizzard themself said, many months ago that they DO NOT KNOW what they do after wrath.

They sent it out now to make a decision on either releasing it, releasing it with many changes or simply doing something else.

lol no, it’s gonna happen. They needed to get developers assigned to the project and needed justification for doing so. They won’t spend the money on classic+.

The amount of hate towards Cataclysm is unreal, dungeons and raids where great, people just started crying because DS went on for too long and LFR was added.

I personally welcome Cataclysm, can’t wait for when they finally started taking raids seriously.

The PvP for Cata was amazing, I can’t wait to play it myself.

yup. no interest. and not because of cata… because of the classic team.

What about Cataclysm with many changes.

Cata built in the classic format, old world, old talents, old dungeons, and a new raid where we stop deathwing from destroying the world in the first place.

If they were smart, they’d release a cata/mop combo as one

Classic should end with Wrath as that is the end of the classic world. The Cataclysm world is in Retail WoW.

This constant claim by individuals about what ruined WoW, what they don’t want, its all a joke lol.

There are millions of opinons, and IMO, the game began to be really ruined with BfA leading into SL. WoD wasn’t great but I enjoyed it. I rank the expansions Legion > MoP > Vanilla > WotLK > TBC > Cata > WoD > BfA > SL. That is my opinion having played this game very heavily since early 2004. I won’t pretend my opinion applies to everybody but in my discussions, I know a lot of people agree in part to my rankings. That doesn’t mean everyone does or everyone ranks them the same.

Had legion not been so successful, I’d say WoD was the beginning of the downfall.

Having said that, I played a lot of BfA and SL, and i had a lot of fun moments pushing M+, raiding, etc. It’s still too grindy, with all the dailies, weeklies, etc.

I don’t really get the old world argument. The old world was dead in TBC outside of getting to a dungeon to get boosted for xp. There are some people questing there now because there is nothing really to do for a week, but it will be dead again once Wrath launches. Now everyone gets 2 boosts and a DK that skips the “old world” anyways.

Just give me my Cataclysm abilities and my WotLK everything else, give Horde Goblins, and call it WotLK Classic+.

Thanks.

I got a hard stop at BFA. I didnt play mop, wod or legion, so I would give them a try, but BFA, no thanks.

I think as long as they can fill a couple servers, the rereleases will keep on coming.

Just keep the raiding and leveling content from every expansion, give us a full old style unlocked talent tree, no borrowed power, no LFR/RDF, and nerf the ilvl gaps between teirs, and call it the “Definitive Edition”

And then make Definitive edition servers for each new expansion.

You can experience the world of cataclysm in retail. Its all there. You cannot Vanilla-Wrath.

Catacylsm classic might as well just be Cataclysm Timewalking.

What is so good about the old world when 98% of players are just skipping it via boosts anyways?

If it doesn’t happen, Classic is done. Your trying to sell them on the idea that doing nothing will keep the subscriptions coming. I don’t think that is sound advice.

Seems like most people either want TBC, WOTLK, MoP, of Legion to be the stopping point of classic. They can’t make everyone happy.

Couple facts ring true regardless of what they do:

  • If the current state of classic is never updated, people will get bored and leave. History of every EXP proves this.

  • The current state of Classic, is where all the players play. That is proven in how dead Vanilla is right now.

So I think they take those facts all the way to the bank and keep going and worry about what to do after legion 5-7 years later.
