I too hope Blizzard opts for a “Wrath Era” server.
Cata would be great on a separate server. And if they decide to progress Cata to MoP, I’m totally cool with that.
I would like to see “MoP Era” because imho everything sucked from Dranor on.

There’s only one problem with this otherwise fine idea: It is ABUNDANTLY obvious that the current staff at Blizzard simply is not capable of it.

I’d buy it. the ocd says I must complete the crafting mog sets.
retail broke that for SL. still ain’t fixed it. that bug was found in SL early beta even. they said they’d fix it soon™. why when blizzard goes soon™ I roll my eyes and go this is over.

this is wotlk too? leveling is a joke. pick up 3 quests. go there. do it. next spot. work around map. class quests in wotlk? LFR does nothing. flying is in northerend and people were fine with it. why not azeroth? no one went to the old world before cata. talent trees got pruned. but everyone still uses cookie cutter specs to parse.
Cata will be popular. Why else do you think people are farming all these achievements in wotlk/tbc/classic, to quit when cata releases? lol

I would play classic cata just becasue I really want classic mop and only did the first raid tier in cata, I quit the game for the first time a few months after hitting level cap, and didnt come back till WoD.
Even if Cata is bad, I still want to do the raids I missed, and soloing them at level cap in retail isnt the same.

And then I will play MoP. And then I will play WoD. And Legion. Heck, I’d even play BFA.
…heck heck, I’d even play Shadowlands AGAIN in 10 years with a few 9.2.5 changes. Such as anima xfer, covenant switch, proper balancing, etc etc etc.

You must be a real idiot and have never heard of private servers. Literally wotlk is the best expansion and people have been playing it for literal YEARS on private servers and still do to this day. So take your uninformed a a s out of here

Flying wasn’t one of the worst decisions made are you stupid? Changing the talent trees, dumbing the game down and ruining all the fun was the worst decision they made. Idk what kind of drugs you take but wow you need help

Excuse me you’re talking about me here and the homogenization of classes started in Wrath. While I agree flying was a terrible idea the casualness of Wrath is much closer to retail than it is Classic.
The core classic community that doesn’t want to play retail will play p servers or era; Cata is a better version of Wrath.
Just like Dragonflight is a better version of Wrath.
Give us SoM2 or fresh plz
Cata is THE best expansion imo.
Every class/spec felt good, they actually had their own identity. Nowadays everything is a blatant build/dump, yes in a sense it could arguably be seen as a build/dump in cata as well but at leaat it felt good. Also everything has everything. Slows, roots, immunities, dispels, and MS debuff.
Ive played Wrath and played it recently, nostalgic yeah but its trash. Who tf wants to be resisted 4 times with a mana bar full of 10 spells, who tf wants to have to sit and eat/drink between literally every kill? Sure its harder to quest, I have no issue with a challenge but sitting and eating isnt a challenge its just a waste of time. Cata is also nostalgic but has quality of life changes, realistic changes, its smoother. Reforging is another excellent QoL change.
When Wrath classic came out you had a choice to play vanilla clasic or wrath classic, let me and others like me choose to play cata.
