Is that not what mages and paladins have been doing since Vanilla?
Same goes for WotLK. Just completed a Normal Utgarde Pinnacle (a max level dungeon) run for the Childrens’ Week achievement in 15 minutes.

You got a good 3 or 4 levels on those bears.
Yeah…I like that cata change.
I also liked the start quest to westfall. At least you get a murder mystery to spice up the run through the ghetto that is westfall.
And yeah to +1 it…wrath questing got easier. And carries on from this point. And its a good thing, imo.
My RPG view, others can vary ofc, is we are now heroes. Its time to beat down henchman, minions, etc.
After killing Arthas and his armies its at this point we should not be fearing trash. Theoretically the trash should be fearing us, imo.
Basically. the fun part to darkshore is the cultists and the naga up north.
Lots of hyper spawns up there. It was there at level 19 up there I…didn’t want that level 19 HC char anymore.
When I go there again, I will try not to die like a muppet like the last time lol.
Linear questing is a problem, because it is boring as hell.
I thought Blizzard made some changes in questing in Cata by the last patch. Guessing that is what Classic Cata would get. So you could jump around questing within a zone.
Mobs did not become weaker, we just became stronger upon Cata release. At lv 10, sometimes, you had a talent that was previously lv 60 as an example.
But Wotlk Classic you certainly can go non stop in green gear.
I agree. Questing should be more about a dudette in southern Barrens randomly sending you to silverpine forest.
And after you completed this quest, and went back to dudette in southern Barrens, enjoying all the fun that is walking through the world for 30 minutes, you get send back to silverpine forest, AGAIN.
Especially on this second walk, its amazing, since you explore totally new areas you´ve never seen before, except the one time far in the past, like in the last 30 minutes.
Catas story does not support anything cross faction.
Im like 2 shotting mobs in 70+ with a prot warrior due to revenge. I cant even stack sunders things die so fast.
I only have 2 heirlooms, but it wouldnt be much to actually take them off and still 2 shot mobs. When revenge crits for over 4k at level 70 heirlooms arent playing that much of a part in that damage and I would maybe loose 200 damage on the ability.
Its just a boring grind after you have done it once.
Eh, that seems highly subjective. You’re trading some creativity/strategy in questing path for a more cohesive storytelling experience.
I mean What’s your point ? What does story have to do with doing dungeons I mean it’s not like the horde raids are any different than the alliance raids ?
We’re all coming together to kill death wing The same way we did it for a litch king And ragnaros And iladin.
So What’s your point ?
I personally prefer the cata changes to the old zones. It gave the entire zone a more comprehensive goal that you’re aiming to complete.
Prior to that, quests were localized to whichever hub you were doing and there wasnt a real difference between someone in elwynn asking you for 8 chunks of meat to make a pie and someone in the barrens asking for 8 chunks of meat to make a pie. Granted, many quests did have story elements to them and I am cherry picking a bit, but I would still say there is a great chunk of “Kill X wildlife because they are encroaching” type of quests pre-cata.
I’m not saying one is better than the other. I think there is certainly a charm to having quests that are for local issues and are not grand on a wordly scale as that correlates well to the relative unknown of a low level adventurer lacking the accolades to partake in zone-saving activities.
However, it did make leveling a bit dull when there isn’t much variety to the quests. The bigger chains as you got to the mid 30s and 40s also had you going all over the world which really slowed down the leveling process when you really just wanted to get to max level.
TL;DR the old quests were fine when the game was young, but by the 3rd expansion they didn’t really need to be as time consuming as they were.
the game also began to offer more diversity of content for casuals and more serious all around, cohesive story instead of tid bits that everyone ignored by never reading quest text.
I feel like Cata is about to be revisited and in some ways re-evaluated as not being as bad as people remember.
My point is cata is the start of garroshs campaign that leads to the destruction of theramore. Cross faction anything doesnt belong in anything classic until after bfa just like it happened in Retail.
If they need to put in cross faction dungeons just for them to get done they should just shut down classic servers.
Wrath is a HUGE letdown since the open world has zero danger. It only gets worse from here on out such as Cata. It becomes a time suck - open world quests have no meanings as the mob pulls cant touch you. Hard pass. I doubt I’m going to finish Wrath to be honest, much less go into Cata
yeah it was really hard leveling in classic on my priest. The bubble and wanding everything down while watching netflix was very engaging.
The problem with making questing easy is that it becomes a snoozefest. Leveling in retail is incredibly boring, but when im leveling in wrath it feels more fun.
The zone revamps and quest redesign is good but the difficulty of killing mobs going down is just going to make it feel like a mindless grind.
If Blizzard does release Cata Classic, seeing how many changes they’re pushing onto WotLK, I find it likely that they’re going to retune either the new mobs or the player abilities to match a difficulty level found in Vanilla/TBC
Ive never really cared about leveling or the difficulty of leveling since its really just a means to an end. Vanilla wasnt even hard its just people still dont really know how to do it where you want your quests to be green quests. If you did this then it was a cake walk.
I think its a good idea if they did. Keep the kill times and general feel of the combat the same but bring in the modern quest design.
