… as I’m killing Bears in Darkshore in 5 seconds on my level 17 warrior in WotLK.
People who say this are probably speaking to how linear questing becomes in the classic zones in Cataclysm, instead of the vast travel times it can take now.
I think it’s fine though.
It’s more that it is on rails and extremely directed.
Who’s saying this? Is this even a thing people are talking about in any thread other than this one?
Ummmm If you’re playing what I think you’re playing on You do realize that’s extremely accelerated right it will not be that fast on.
Cata By blizzard I mean is leveling easier yes but honestly if rdf is in It will go very fast especially if they make it cross faction as well as cross Realm.
With linear questing comes overall way more dynamic and unique zones. Stonetalon Mountains easily went from the most forgettable questing zone in the game to one of the most memorable (for Horde at least, not sure about Alliance) come Cata.
So you decked yourself out in enchanted heirlooms and then complain that the game is too easy
lol
Nerf warriors.
You see that’s the best part questing was never hard. Thanks for coming to my ted talk
Cata is better than wotlk.
Serious question here, just curious, not really a complaint.
is wrath leveling/questing supposed to be this easy? Like i’ve been able to solo every single group quest on multiple zones, until the 80 icecrown stuff. The only tricky one was the Drakuru Betrayal thing but even that was just clunky and still manageable.
Is wrath classic under tuned or something or was it always this easy? I know it’s supposed to be easier than tbc but everything feels so wet noodley. My chars weren’t in heirlooms either
Can finally uninstall questie. (Should already since Wrath introduced the raid helper, but here we are)
I’ll never get the argument that “Blizzard wasted all their resources for zones 90% of the players won’t see, bad expansion.” Those who claim that simply don’t understand how therapeutic a 3AM Feralas flight session is
Also, completely unrelated, but the Molten Front was chef’s kiss.
WoW has always featured pathetically easy open-world PvE questing/leveling.
Which is why I find it ironic that many WotLK players claim Cata questing is too dumbed down when it’s just Northrend questing but with more “fun” quests. They made a whole questline in Redridge a reference to Rambo using a guy we found captured in a cave all the way back in Vanilla. It certainly spices up the game way more than “kill 10 of X, and bring me 5 of Y”
Wrath was always this easy. Leveling in Wrath is probably the easiest it’s ever been in WoW.
Honestly, I’ve never heard of anyone really complain about linear questing being a problem.
When people talk about the difficulty of Classic leveling/questing versus retail they largely refer to the lack of power (most) classes have to handle anything thrown at them. A warrior pulling two mobs at low enough level is pretty difficult to handle. You can go OOM and be out of options other than to run, then get dazed, or pull another, etc. It can go south fast. Mobs run away in fear and pull extra, some mobs have some ridiculous aggro radiuses.
Questing is sometimes difficult in that group quests exist, or are just tedious grind-fests. Not to mention Classic era was in a time when no questing help in game existed and thottbot was just an amalgamation of people trying to help others.
Of course people still debate the legitimate difficulty of Classic leveling, which I say is certainly there, just not really in a souls-like level of difficulty that people may think of when they think of playing a really challenging game. Classic leveling isn’t difficult in being complex puzzle to solve, it just requires a certain level of brain activity when playing else you may wind up dead.
I loved the conclusion to the questing story line in Stonetalon.
Very satisfying
what is the question exactly ?
In cataclysm you would pack pull the mobs. In dungeons you pull practically everything in 1 pack and bomb it all down. Difficulty is pretty much dead and gone until you get to heroics.
