TBC was actual garbage. Wrath had a couple good raids and an okay story with one good zone. Other than that it’s highly overrated

If I remember right flying gate in wod was the worst plunge.
Mop was just the grrr….china pandaring rants. Pun intended.
Many stayed. It was the flying taken away that really got people ticked off. For good reason….people like to fly at level cap.
Especially when over the expacs each char is a crap ton of gold to do it lol.

People be forgetting that TBC almost died during phase 2 with SoM releasing. Many guilds broke up then and servers starting dying and people started transferring. They’d have to do some crazy changes for me to ever consider TBC again, no attunements, dual spec added, rdf added, rep grinds reduced/account wide, less phase 2 trash, raid wide buffs and on and on

It was Bobby Kotick, the Blizzard Store, Store Mounts, and LFR, that gave Cata the bad perception it has today. Cata was on top of the world and they chose whales over paying subscribers and people started quitting in mass

I would have kept ALL of mine in Wrath Era - now I have deleted all but 2 of them.
I hate Cata for these exact reasons.
- My world was ruined, I HATED to come to Southshre and see the devastation there, I did not like the new 1K Needles (only the Speedbarge was fun, and it could just as well have cast anchor off the shore in Tanaris), and I was heatrbroken doing the qulestlines outside Auberdine.
- The forced specs were awful. I could no longer play how I liked, but only spec for endgame. Not fun.
- All the missing flaovout items like bullets firewood for cooking,
- I could kill rares levels above me without half trying - I was OP as compared to the world I was levelling in.
Maybe the majority did as you say, but we’re still a large minority bemoaning the trivialization of a good game.

I take option 2½. Play Era - mainly HC - and keep asking for Era servers to the other expansions until my sub runs out.

wrong cata is classic. period. its an OG expansion. The slap in the face to the entire playerbase is making SoD and hardcore mode while Woltk is still running. SoD & and “Hardcore” are not classic and twitch hype meme modes nobody wanted in the first place. And if you quit Wrath for SoD you have zero room to speak on what is and what isnt classic

Surely the expansion that killed original WoW will revive it this time right? yeah no.
Even Mike Morhaime himself acknowledged the clear division in the playerbase post Wrath.
They should’ve focused all their resources on Classic+ which SoD is nowhere close to because of the lack of resources. Cata is a terrible decision.

It’s most likely that blizzard has data that shows a huge drop off in players as BCC and wrath ran on. They decided that players moved through it so fast that the content drought came faster. So they decided to move as fast as the players did.

I agree with you but with that said, I really do love Cata just as much and there are many other people who love it as well.

Cata’s doa. You know it. I know it. Blizz knows it.
Cata onwards is terrible. MoP is decent but nowhere close as good as Vanilla to Wrath.
It’s just ez bucks for them at this point to rush through those horrendous expansions than go all out with Classic+, that’s more likely why they’re doing this.

No one knows it. We’ll see what happens. But some people pretend they know because they like drama. It’s all histrionics.
I doubt they will ever make a classic +. To do it right would be an expensive gamble that blizzard is unlikely to invest in. There is no clear picture of what the players want it to look like, just dozens of different views.
