Casual vs 1% should stop

:hugs: pet

I’m playing through Ultima VII right now. I’m not seeing Covenants with powers.

Yes, it is an rpg game. An rpg game with bosses, and difficulties, and things to do outside of the standard 5v5 que up and play style. Huh, I wonder how much your rpg works when you get to watch everyone around you finishing everything faster than you? Guess that’s ok considering you at least had your rpg.

You may also fluff my tail if you like.

WoW is a p2w game now. We can’t take it too seriously.

In his defense, that’s not an rpg. You’re not leveling a character with your choices.

A sad state we are in

I don’t care if people buy carries if they earn gold in game but the WoW tokens to do it just make me sick

I am also playing dragon age 2, I dont reset my character’s build before every fight to be l33t optimal because the game, doesnt need it, just like mythic doesnt need 100% optimality.

The reason the game gives me an option to reset my build is in case I decide to play some other build, not because I need to optimize for every single fight, yet meta slaves abuse that option which is why we moved from gold costs to timegates.

Because that is the only way to stop meta slaves from changing builds for every single boss

Can’t p2w if 1% aren’t there to carry you.

Yeah, the grand daddy of CRPG series is not an RPG  It’s true too that leveling is so inconsequential in Ultima.

Imagine for a 2nd that “Character build” is not even a thing in Ultima. The Avatar doesn’t even really have a class in later games, and can just do whatever he wants. I can cast Wizard spells at high level and fight with the best Sword in the game in melee combat.

Oh, so it’s not an RPG now is it ?

pulls tail

I just like these threads because they’re usually full of people that aren’t 1%ers trying to explain to a bunch of people who also aren’t 1%ers why these systems are stupid

So without the 1% WoW won’t be p2w? That sounds great.

More like without the 1% WoW won’t have an endgame, as people won’t be able to buy their carries and will just quit instead.

I doubt many would unsub just because they can’t buy mythic carries.

It’s not the Mythic carries really, it’s the Heroic carries that are the real money maker. Mythic carries take too long, and we can’t bring enough buyers. At best in EP, we were 4 carrying up to Azshvane, 2 carrying after that, a 1 buyer for Azshara. Cut was around 150k per run each, with half the gold going to the guild bank for 8.3

You can really pack a Voidwing run though.

What it says is that he is of the old-timer mindset that imagines a mist-shrouded time when everyone held hands and helped each other, which never was the case. Without the group finder, hardly anyone would have been doing dungeons as populations fell while devs milked players on dying realms for paid transfers.

People who remember vanilla as a time of wondrous friendships are the ones who were at the top of the pyramid. The majority of players did not share in that experience.

He’s so out of touch, he doesn’t know the devs put in a Group finding tool back in patch 1.3 and made it available from everywhere in the world in patch 1.5.

If you believe that vanilla was a time of sharing and caring, you were probably one of the few who got away with murder because you were such a good player nobody would dare speak against you lest they be blacklisted.

Heroic carries aren’t a service that’s exclusively offered by the 1% though. It’s just guilds with mythic gear outgearing the content. And even then, I don’t think many would quit just because it’s harder to find guilds you can buy heroic carries off of.

One just needs to look no further than Classic to see how that game worked and works : “Play one of the few classes that work, or sit out, and if you don’t have all world buffs for Molten Core, you’re not getting invited”.

While players in Vanilla hadn’t figured out all the tricks yet, “Come to AH bridge for inspect” was definitely a thing.

It’s almost like the whole “1%” thing is a ridiculous notion to begin with

I’m far from 1%, I still got CE every tier. No, none of my guilds would have tolerated a Survival Hunter.

The point remains : You guys gain nothing from this whole Covenant mess. The game isn’t better because of it, quite the opposite. Look at all the arguments its creating and the toxicity its breeding.

Heck, you’ve become a sort of “douche” running around calling people metaslaves over it. You’ve become a sort of “Elitist” in a way. “Play my way or you’re bad”. Except your way is Mediocrity.
