Casuals and the 1% are both extreme minorities. Blizzard is doing the FF14 thing where they cater to two extreme minorities and ignore the majority, which is the other 95% of the player base.

I donât like LFR in WoW, itâs a garbage magnet.
Iâm just saying City of Heroes was a relaxed environment, where the balance didnât matter because the content wasnât difficult. Where someone might choose the 120k build over the 200k build because it provides some sort of useful buff, debuff, or other kind of force multiplication.

Yeah thatâs like normal raiding or heroic raiding. It doesnât really matter what you play. If things are balanced you can play what you want: itâs the terrible balance that keeps say shaman DPS players out of mythic aid.
Iâm not sure where people get the impression that only 1% of the player base do mythic raid, thatâs a really really low estimate.
You could make a case for âRaider vs Casualâ back in the day when some players were locked out of content. But nowadays
If they catered to both the extremes successfully the other 95% would get a good game. They just have a tendency to lean in one direction or the other way too much.
Sadly based on SL changes they seem to be focuses on quite literally dividing those 2 extremes and trying to give them different progression which screws everyone else that does more than just one of those

Yes, this is EXACTLY what Square enix did with FF14. It doesnât work. It just makes a game for no one.
Why do you need better gear if youâre doing single-player content? This game is an RPG isnât it, so it stands to reason that difficulty and rewards are tied together.
If I were Blizz I would only care about what makes me money, and in that case, I wouldnât give 2 sh!ts about the 1%. The term âcasualâ is actually funny, considering this is a game that we pay to play.
Honestly all they need to have is universal gear progression, a currency, a system or whatever that everyone can participate in no matter the content they are doing, yeah make easier content take ages to progress but give them that path.
Let players choose how they progress instead of force raid mythic or die

Conquest(Or honor) gear used to be where casuals got their gear after they removed rating requirements. In Legion/BFA, it was M+.
In shadowlands, itâs nothing. Raid or die.
The people that made and played Wildstar.

Tbf here, âthe 1%â argument is a troll. A lot more than the 1% want better gameplay. Anyone saying âthe 1% just want ___â are trolling. They are trying to invalidate a certain opinion by saying said opinion only truly matters to a small part of the playerbase.
This is why covenants shouldnât affect gameplay in any way.
You get mythic raid level gear from mythic plus chest? You get gear that stayed for pvp and has pvp benefits from pvp. Whatâs the issue? It sounds like everyone has a gearing path.
So you want to turn WoW into one of those Mobile games like Raid: Shadow Legends and AFK Arena?
Inherently false information. You get gear from WQâs and all dungeon difficulties as well. You just wont get the best gear from them. Which is how it should be. No one should get the best gear by doing the easy stuff. If you want the better things, you have to put in the effort in the harder difficulties to get it. Thereâs a reason why skins in other games are locked behind beating said games on hard mode. Theyâre rewards for going through the effort.

MM has gotten no love since Legion .
Iâve just learned how to meme play the spec the last 2 expansions to make it more mobile.
