Many of the games systems can be said to be favoring an elitist idea of play than a casuals.
Plus with how the systems are designed the gap between elite and casual can only widen.

I BEG YOUR PARDON?
HAHAHAHAH WHAT ON EARTH IS THIS TAKE?
Ohhhh great thanks I have access to upgrading m+ gear which does absolutely nothing for me. Yeehaw thanks Blizzard for listening to our complaints about raid gear by introducing a new currency you expect us to farm.
Thank god i can replace my pvp gear that I farmed for raid with 220 ilvl gear.
I’m super casual. I use gold for sub and expansions also. Just saying.
You coming out hating on elite players is better than them bashing casual ones?
Why the money spent on tokens brings in more money than subs
Because that’s the crux of the design issues in SL.
They’ve made gear progress really hard for anything but organized raiding - even PvP gearing which is good … is dominated by mythic raiders.
So, you have an expansions is largely unpleasant for many players because it was designed for serious raiders … some of whom are also upset, but some who respond to any concerns about gearing with something to the effect of " you casual losers get the gear you deserve".
Okay some of you people need to lose the ability to post in threads with this level of takes.
Pro tip: Almost every mythic raider who cares about progress did PvP to gear this tier. If you raid mythic and didn’t do PvP you are objectively punishing your raid team.
Only organized raiders could be braindead enough to like the content they have to do to stay at the top of the pile.
Plenty of elites come on the forums and tell me that my opinion doesn’t matter unless I run the highest content in the shortest and earliest time possible.
Me: Torghast is hard. I’m having trouble with layer 5.
1337: Nuh huh, I cleared layer 8 solo with 145 gear on my Arms warrior on launch only using autoattack and running backwards. Git gud noob
how are you defining elite? I know of like two other posters who even do okay level of mythic bosses and they well and truly don’t care or make posts like that. care to fill me in?

look at poor old defenceless casual player ardmccloud, can we please get some more pity on these vilified casuals? they just want to play the game damn it!
Ya bright guy … that’s the point. Raiding is the gateway to all the other gearing activities - you can’t compete in high end PvP or get into high end M+ if you weren’t serious raiding.
Mythic raiders are dominating all the 3 end game avenues of gearing to a level that has never been seen before.

Oh yeah with my 2 pieces of heroic gear and 1 piece of mythic gear I was DOMINATING the arenas and RBGS. Really had a GIGANTIC advantage over those pvp players.

…Riiiigggghhhhttttt
I’d say only casuals who have a series victim complex would be able to produce a take like this but then I run the risk of becoming a cAsUaL BaShEr.
HMMM someone is butthurt
Raiding is the gateway to all the other gearing activities
Funny because random BGs are literally the fastest way to get up an alt to the level of being able to even get into normal raids and low M+.
Because they don’t realize they are playing the same game and that both are required for the game to succeed.
You’re bashing casuals for bashing elites? Hypocrisy much? I mean, honestly, I don’t want to bash anybody. I want a healthy game that inspires and engages a broad spectrum of the community.
All you’re doing is bashing casuals for raising concerns - somehow taking it personally? Why? It’s not a flaw of people that have the skill to do a timed +20 or a mythic raid - it’s a flaw of the current design of the expansion.
I have actually also advocated that raiders and mythic + are getting something of the short end of the stick for loot, I’ve read their gripes about how many bosses downed successfully only to get nothing and check the great vegas vault of disappointment. Now it seems this valour thing isn’t gonna be for the raiders but the mythic + ers. I don’t even know what to say anymore.
I’m not out to disenfranchise anybody, I just want them to fix this game somehow. If that’s even possible.
Alriiiiiiiggggghhhttttt! Let’s get pissed. Let’s get ready to Rumbllllllllllllle!
World of Warcraft classism … this is fun stuff to fight about!
Why are there so many casual vs elite threads lately?
I figure this is a sign that devs will continue to come down hard on casuals, in an attempt to force them to become ultra hardcore second job raiders, mdi competitors, and glads. I think devs are figuring that if they give casuals no choice, they will step up their game and git gud, desperate to join the elites who despise them and wish they would just go away and get out of their game.
Of course, the most meaningful option of all is whether to subscribe and play the game at all, and a lot of players are taking that option.
I feel like they want to force protracted play time and part of that would be to instigate systems that don’t really accommodate casual play. As for me, a self-described casual - I just won’t play or pay for a subscription. That’s it. If there’s no seat at the table for me, I’m not paying a fee to get into the restaurant.
Subs aren’t the games primary source of revenue, if you’re going to act entitled you should probably get caught up to speed on these types of things.
Being told that you don’t need high-end loot to do heroic dungeons isn’t bashing.
In fact if it becomes the norm that every player can be in 220+ gear, it does in fact end up impacting quite literally everyone as Blizzard then has to design everything around that little fact. Seems more of a “you” issue that you want to get better gear but don’t want to put effort into to attain it. And Blizzard seems to think that too, seeing as how they’re going about designing this expansion.
I think the target demographic now is raid loggers who play no alts. All of these time-sucking systems are intended to keep those raiders logging in daily so they won’t fall behind. Everybody else is collateral damage.
Ion is a raid logger.
