For some unknown reason, I cant access the ingame chat and it comes up with “You Can’t send or receive messages while chat is disabled” although I’ve checked every setting both in-game and on my battle net and they both say i can. Issue Happens in All WoW versions (Retail, Classic and Cata Classic) and has been ongoing since i restarted playing early November
THat sounds like u were silenced have u checked ur email including the spam box to see if u were silenced.

Yep. Sounds like you might be chat silenced. Check these two articles (one has troubleshooting steps in case it’s not a silence) and your email, as Darth said.

Could you by chance have enabled Parental Controls and disabled chat that way?
When you check via Account Management does it say anything about Parental Controls being enabled at the top of this page?

How long you away? Could be that your account has 30 days of restrictions. Can you use in game mail or the auction house? If no i bet you have to wait the 30 days.

I’m not aware of any 30 day chat restrictions for an account? Classic SoD has the AH, Mail, and Trade restrictions but they can still chat. Stater edition accounts can still chat on game, though sole characters can’t see what they type on /say.
For players who come back that have not subscribed for more then a year have 30 day restrictions like a new account. My guess this is in case gold sellers high jack old accounts they can be found before they can do any damage. At least would force them to use legit funding ways to reactivate the accounts.

Chat Disabled
You can completely enable or disable the chat through your chat settings.
To enable the chat, right click on the chat window, select Settings, and social features, can also be disabled through the Account Management page, under “Privacy & Communication”, be sure to check here too.

Interface Issues
Type in /resetchat in the chat window —this will restore your chat setting to default. If the issue persists reset your user interface to make sure your addons are not corrupted.

Can you point me to info about this? I haven’t seen anything like that anywhere. Just the Classic AH/Trade/Mail restrictions.
Even Starter accounts have access to chat and the error message is different than what the OP stated. At least according to the help articles.
My husband was away for 4 years, came back, had zero restrictions.

If it’s related to the classic restrictions, it would be 2017, which would require a 7-8 year break.

I asked support to remove parental controls as soon as I realised i couldnt talk, that was in early november

There are no parental controls present, so unless this is some hangover from that, that really shouldn’t be the issue.
Looks like your last ticket had a response, recommending you do a proper reset UI. If that doesn’t help, I’m afraid another ticket may be in order.

Everytime support tells me to do one, i do one and it doesnt fix my issue

Support sent me a link to that page, I have tried that
So far I have tried
- Fresh Install of Battle.net and wow
- Removed curseforge
- UI reset
- Removed parental controls
- Tried 3-4 scripts/macros
- Password reset
I know the issue probably isn’t on my side as my mate managed to log into his acc on my PC
Doing the UI reset you must make sure your restarting your pc after deleting the foders other wise it won’t work
Okay so I take it with the reinstall and various UI resets you will have done this completely:
Rename the Cache, Interface, and WTF folders to CacheOld, InterfaceOld, and WTFOld.
Restarted, all that jazz,
Have you tried:
/console cvar_default
This resets the saved variables. This sets all the cvars (that players can change) to Blizz default. Means ya gotta click through some stuff again, but it’s as fresh as ya get. Combine that with a full ui reset and you have done all you can.
