When my battle pet dies in a fight, I have no option to bring in another battle pet. It is just a blank bar at the bottom and there is no “Switch Pet” button. I have to abandon the fight to reset it and it shows up the next time a battle pet dies. This happens on every character I have tested it on and I have noticed that the issues re-occurs after entering and leaving an instance, if that helps at all.

Per reports from this thread, disable your pet battling addons.

Thank you. Odd this didn’t show up in the “Your topis is similar to…”.
It’s not an addon issue. I run a vanilla account; no addons, and I’m experiencing this issue. I have found that I don’t have to quit the pet battle though. You can just /reload ui and the pet choice will show up.

I already responded to you in the other thread that a clean install doesn’t do anything about account wide CVars that addons may have touched on your other install.

The “other location” on my computer is a virtual host running under VirtualBox. There is no way something from the root of the computer touches a virtual machine.
I don’t think you understand what account wide means. It’s hosted on blizzard’s servers, not your machine, so even if you play on another computer, certain settings will be retained.

Addons don’t write to Blizzard’s servers.
Addons can change CVars, which are held on blizzard’s servers.

And /console cvar_default is supposed to clear it. Still have the issue.
Meanwhile, I’m not having the issue and can replicate it 100% by installing the pettracker addon. So I don’t know what is causing your issue, but if you’re running it on your main account then something about it is definitely bleeding over onto your clean install.
The simplest fix is to disable the addon’s combat switcher and go back to default.

I don’t run pet tracker. The only pet addon I run (when running a pet addon) is rematch.
Rematch is causing the issue for me. Disable it.

It’s happening to me today almost every pet battle you can’t let your pet die or you have to Forfeit the match

Exactly this is ridiculous
If I reload my UI during a pet battle when I come back the battle’s over and I lost
I hope you understand that Blizzard QA is not responsible for fixing your addons
FWIW, I’m running both Pet Tracker and Rematch and have been experiencing this for about two weeks now. I’ve found it happens most frequently when I have the addons active but it has happened to me with both disabled and in one instance both completely uninstalled, albeit far less frequently. I’ve found that /RL during the fight fixes the issue for that fight regardless of addon status.

Just an fyi, disabling or uninstalling an addon doesn’t really do much if you don’t follow up with a complete UI reset. They can still leave behind settings and such which can cause issues.
I believe the current fix to the issue is to disable the battle module in the Pet Tracker addon. I only use Rematch and have not had any issues, doing pet battle WQs daily.
