If any pet dies during a pet battle, the option to select the next pet is NOT AVAILABLE and the battle must be forfeited. Not only is that battle lost, but you’re also out the bandages you must use to heal your pets to try again.
This is happening to me as well. As soon as my first pet dies, there is no option to pick the next pet, leaving the battle stuck and no way to save caught pets.
Pet battles still not working properly. Once any pet dies, the UI locks up and no action accept forfeiting can be completed, rendering the entire pet battling feature useless.
That’s only an option in low level battles that don’t require much effort. It is not a potential strategy when battling Trainers, the Menagerie, etc.
I am 4 pet charms away from a particular goal, which I should have reached easily today… and I can’t because I can’t fight any trainer but Ashlei without losing a single pet.
Addons are up to date. I’ll try turning them off as soon as I reach a good testing area and will update once done.
Edited to add (since Blizzard forums won’t allow you to reply to a thread if you’re the last in that thread): Turning off Pet Tracker and Rematch did the trick, thank you!!
It still happens even with no addons loaded. I have a clean install in another location on my computer that I use just for testing bugs like this because the first thing Blizzard will tell us is to turn off addons.
Pet Tracker had a very recent update (two days ago), so perhaps this is a bug Jailborc addressed?
Editing to add: no, this is still being reported as a bug in that most recent version.
A more focused workaround appears to be to disable just the PetTracker-Battle module, but for me that would defeat the purpose of using the addon. (The world map pet tracking isn’t useful now that I have all the Safari achievements done, but seeing my opponent’s moveset and cooldowns is critical within a pet battle.)
I don’t run either addon (when I am running addons) and I still have the problem. The issue exists on a clean install (no addons) that I’ll run to test these things because that’s the first thing Blizzard will ask you to do when you report a bug.
