Can't log into main

hello,
I can log into all my toons but one. After signing in and picking my toon with the issue, I enter the game world for a sec or two and then am kicked to the reconnect screen. for the short time I can see the world the game is frozen. I’ve tried the unstuck service 4 times. i did a clean reinstall, removed addons, deleted the wtf folder and tried the launcher scan and repair service all with no luck. i wrote a ticket a long time ago and HAVE GOTTEN ZERO RESPONSE!

I didn’t say… Put in any old ticket using whatever category you wish. I said put in a ticket using the link I provided.

You put in a ticket using the “Account hacked” category. Which will eventually be reviewed, but the URL I provided is the exact ticket category you need for this issue and has a high priority to it.

okay i did follow your instructions. i placed a ticked everywhere i could because I wasn’t getting anywhere

That actually makes it worse. The CS forum serves as an Information Desk to help folks navigate the Support system, explain policies, explain account services etc. Any time you are frustrated with the Support system you can always come here and ask what the best way to deal with it is. It certainly saves some frustration on top of the game issue you are having!

I had a feeling from your other thread that there may have been a ticket category issue. Glad Vrak could get that straightened out for ya! Hope you get your character back in soon!

Excellent. Just to set expectations, response times for that issue are currently around 3 hours or so.

If any of those other tickets are still open please cancel them as they will clog up the system.

So if you actually want to get good support, listen to the blues and people that give you advice. Never spam support like you did just opening tickets everywhere as it will almost always result in degraded support for you, and could potentially get your tickets closed without even them even being looked at because they could simply be flagged as spam which you don’t want.

Be nice to support, they want to help you.

While I appreciate everyone here, when virtually the same advice is stated multiple times it can be a little off-putting and feel like being ganged up on. :slight_smile:

The issue should be resolved as the ticket was addressed already. Hopefully, Bigbiscotti can log into their character now.

well i still have the same problem even after a GM moved my toon. (updated)
a new gm just reached out saying it was fixed and yet I still have the same prob, fyi

That unusually means they can log in to your char without issue. So the char itself is free.

So, what on your client side might be able to cause that char to DC? Something related to that char’s files. Usually addon related.

I think you said you re-installed, which is not needed, but one thing you can try is UI reset. That is not just disabling addons, it is removing the folders totally and letting the game make fresh ones. That can resolve

Try this. If it works, then yay! If not, then you have done the troubleshooting step to rule out UI issues.

See what you get with that. When a Blue gets in they can double check and see what they can find.

When dealing with computer issues, especially bugs, not everything is easy or fast, if it was you likely could have solved the problem yourself. Be patient, if your ticket was resolved, reopen it and respond back advising its still an issue providing a clear description of actions you took, which again duplicated the problem showing its not resolved, as well as any other tests/actions you take that could provide them more information so they can narrow down the problem more. (I have added a few at the bottom, though you might have already done some of them.)

Unfortunately they can’t duplicate the issue, which could mean its a client issue which will almost always be more difficult to troubleshoot, especially if its not a known or common issue.

When dealing with an issue like this it’s could be caused by a fault which is going off when you launch that specific character on your screen, this could be caused by bad ram, a bad bit on a hard drive, or other issues. While it’s possible you have tried some of these, here are a couple things you could look at, you have gotten most of the ones I would have thought of.

  • Make sure you video drivers are up to date
  • Make sure your computer OS has been updated and is on the latest version

Assuming it still isn’t working and you have done all that, other thing you will want to do would be to check the Blizzard WOW Error logs, I am not sure if you need to enable them or not, but here is how you access them. If you do find you are getting logs, post them here as well as attaching them to your ticket. If you don’t see anything I feel you should on this type of crash, maybe someone can step in with additional instructions if I missed something.

Here are a couple of other things you can try, though while the first one might have a small chance to help, my guess is since you can log into the other character, the 2nd isn’t going to do much.

be patient? it’s been days. i tried everything everyone kindly suggested with no luck. the gm’s keep saying it is fixed when nothing is fixed, I just deleted everything related to wow, the game, addons, curse etc… and still the problem is there even with the bare bone game

also how can just one toon have all these issues but the alts and game as a whole doesn’t?

Could be anything honestly. If the GMs are saying it is fixed then it would be something happening on the client side. Back in BC I had the same issue happening, trying to enter the game on my main crashed the game. I tried everything, finally a tech support agent asked me to see if I could update the firmware on my modem.

Sure enough once I updated the firmware I was able to log in. Computers are really weird sometimes and don’t make a lot of logical sense.

The problem unfortunately is likely with your computer/network. Support can test all they want likely everything they do shows everything is fine, yet you still are having problem. The reality is unless they can duplicate what your problem, the issue can be almost impossible to fix sometimes, it’s literally a needle in a haystack.

I know this is frustrating, but don’t take your frustration out on support, your only real option is to work with support to try and help them help you. They don’t have some magic button they can push that will fix your problem. They don’t have access to your computer, so all they can do is follow scripts which identify issues that might cause problems like yours, they also likely haven’t come across your issue before.

The best you can do is keep trying different things, let support know what your testing so they have information, do this by updating your ticket, if possible give them error messages (you didn’t post anything about checking the error logs) If they ask you to try something do it, and then follow up. If you try something on your own or that someone suggests on this forum, follow up on you ticket with what you did and the results, alway provide clear concise steps that document what you were doing until the failure.

So a question, and while maybe nothing will occur to you, is there anything that changed, or which you completed about your character. What changed form when it was working to now where its crashing you, are there any things that you can think of, such as getting any new loot, a new achievement, a change in your computer?

I would also go over all your hardware and make sure it falls under supported hardware, and yes, if you’re only seeing this on one character should it matter? probably not, but again, this isn’t likely a normal problem so you have to look and consider everything.

You also might want to create a post in the following forum. Avoid talking frustraitions, and interactions with support and where you feel they have let you down, none of this matters in the end. Keep it concise, this is the problem your having, this is how you duplicate it , these are the things you have tested (bulleted lists are great for this) and see if anyone has any ideas. Also if you are getting an error code that would be huge.

Is it possible to ask why I am not able to log into my WWI account but I can in classic? I have updated my everything, gotten rid of old stuff and paid a tithe to the WOW goddess…still unable to log into Stormrage. Thanks
