Ok fixed - the launcher completely reset my options and put me in an old starter edition…
logged out of everything and relogged in selecting the appropriate active account dropdowns.
So strange! Was not something I did and must be something to do with the launcher and announcement?
Generally speaking, when a new expact or something a lot of people want try to get at pretty much at the same time, errors and bugs just pop out like this.

I didn’t buy the preorder. I’ve resarted battle.net, removed it from the task manager, and restarted my computer. I still log in like I don’t have a subsrciption or leveled characters.

I also deleted battle.net, restarted my pc, and redownloaded it. Same problem.
what will rebooting your PC have anything to do with wow
It’s doing the same thing as going in to the Task Manager to kill any and all instances of WoW and the launcher, essentially.
What I’ve been seeing catch more people though, is after relaunching the launcher? It’s defaulting to a WoW1 or secondary account. Not necessarily your named and subscribed main WoW account. So please, check that if you’re still not seeing your proper characters.
