Cannot trade any item. (No tooltip shows up on trade item)

Issues with loot trading after getting loot from chests/raid.

Wrote more than 4 tickets for this problem but none of them solved it. I sent bug reports too. They keep replying with general trade loot rules even though the criteria are met.

“General loot trade rules state that you can only trade an item to players that were present for the kill, eligible for loot, and within four hours of real time in Modern WoW.
If the player you want to trade with is not from the same realm, the trade must be completed before leaving the dungeon or raid instance.”

This issue started in patch 10.2 and happens to everyone of my characters. Right after clearing the dungeon, I immediately tried trading it inside the instance with a friend and it still won’t let me. I also tried trading it on the same realm as mine which is Barthilas.

“There are additional rules for trading Personal Loot (these may be the ones applying to you in most of thee cases) are:”
You cannot trade gear that is an upgrade for your character. An item is an upgrade for your character when its item level is higher than the item level of any previously received gear for that specific slot.
-Crafted Legendary items do not unlock the option to trade lower item level pieces for their slot."

Even though i have a higher ilvl and everyone is eligible to trade, system doesn’t allow me to trade. I have geared characters that have 489 ilvls on the same slot but still cannot trade lower ilvls like 470. I also did some experimenting around older content of the expansion, even transmog items /older items cannot be traded. The blue tooltip doesn’t show up at all and just makes all items I receive SOULBOUND immediately.

"If none of your situations fit, then I’m afraid we lack a way to assist. "

This was the last ticket response I received.

I did not change any option on my settings (even deleted and installed a new wow client), the addons are from naowh which i subscribed (my friends are using the same one and have no issues whatsoever). I really am lost now and don’t know what to do.

Has anyone encountered this issue or can help in any way ? I cannot help my friends with gearing and now I’m starting to lose interest in the game.

Theres not really much that can be done here this is more of a player to player support forum help desk. Unfortunately as you found out gms atent allowed to swap loot. Other then leaving a bug report theres not much else that can be done.

This being said the loot ur trying to trade is it loot they would belegible not a diffetent armor class or a weapon they cant ise.

This practically screams it’s a problem with the addon on your end.

I would first start with a fresh install of the UI, and also make sure your addons are kept up-to-date. There have been three patches since Tuesday, each of which could have knocked them out of compatibility.

I would recommend doing the UI reset every time you finish the dungeon before anyone leaves to see if the behavior repeats.

I tried running a quick m0 without any addons (disabled all of them). The blue tooltip for trading doesn’t show up and the item is still soulbound. :frowning:

Try running it after a full UI reset with no addons 0 at all.

not to ask a stupid question, but sometimes it helps. What is the item you are trying to trade and who to? If its a ring for example, do you have higher item level rings in BOTH slots, or have you popped a higher item level into both then swapped them out?
If the tool tip isnt showing up it usually just means the item youve looted is higher than something you have. Even if you dont use that spec, so say your a ret pali and a shield drops. If you have never equipped a shield with a higher item level before, the shield will be soulbound

The most recent item was leather boots from murozond rise (ilvl 467 from m17) and my current gear equipped is the same leather boots but with an item level of 483 (upraded with flightstones and crests). I tried trading it with a friend from the same realm and he was present at the time of the boss kill.

aRE you trading before or after upgrading if u upgrading it it that null the trade availability.

Its another item completely. Its a fresh drop. I had equipped the higher one prior to entering the dungeon.

Followed the instructions for a fresh install ui- still not fixed :frowning:

Isn’t the item that is equipped judged by the base item level and not the upgraded item level?

yeah i think it goes off what youve actually looted and equipped at the base level, and crafted items dont count either, has to be a looted item

is it a different track like champion vs heroic? and if youve got the leather crafted boots that wont count

Just to cover this. Did you do a full Reset UI and attempt this with a newly acquired item while you still had the default UI?

I just want to make sure you aren’t looking at loot you already acquired pre-ui reset.

Yes. For example, if the piece you have equipped is currently item level 476 of a “Champion” item with a base item level of 460 and a max upgrade item level of 476 and the item you are trying to trade is a “Hero” item with a base item level of 467 and a max upgrade item level of 483, the system looks at the new piece as an upgrade because it has the potential to be a higher item level than what you currently have.

Yes, after following the instructions. I did another quick m0 with a buddy. I still cannot trade the item. We also went to an earlier expansion raid for transmog but it can’t be traded too.

I am having the exact same problem as the poster. I fully understand the loot rules and have experienced the exact same issues since 10.2. Has a solution been found for this issue? It is incredibly frustrating to play with this. I have disabled my addon management software. I have reset my ui. I have run different types of content on different characters. I understand loot rules. I can’t trade dungeon loot period. Thank you

Hey there. I was wondering if you have since found a solution to this problem. I have the exact same issue. To a T. All of my characters, all kinds of loot, even old raid transmog. I tried resetting my UI with addons and addon management software. I ran a M0 completely absent of any outside factors. Can’t trade anything. No blue text on items, everything is soulbound.

There are no Devs on this forum. If it’s not being reported as a bug, then the staff who works on these issues won’t have the correct data as to how wide-spread an issue may or not be.
