That’s very odd. I don’t understand why it might be different… maybe it’s tax? But they would include it in my bank statement if that was additional. But it is the same $97.99 CAD so it most likely includes tax. 
EDIT: Just saw your edit, lol. But then again, that would mean I wasn’t charged the tax? But I don’t have any other charges from Blizzard after that for a while. This is very strange. Maybe I am misunderstanding this whole thing… I am not very finance literate lol.
Yeah it was the taxes. According the Transaction History on the Blizzard website.
Tax CA$9.77 Total CA$107.76
I thought college is free in Canada.

Healthcare, not College. You still pay 40,000$ per semester~
The government helps but you can really realistically afford 2 years unless you wanna be in dept for the rest of yourlife. Also forget dropping school or failing, your never going to financially recover.

So you’re making this change yes.
But on July 1st 2021, all cross-border digital goods will be taxed by 14%. Is this change because of that? Because you’re 6 months early. And I swear to god, that we don’t get that 14% charge on top of the $22 that we have to pay now.

Whenever America makes less money than before, they increase the price. When they make more money than before, they keep prices the same.
They never reduce, always increase.

As an Aussie that had the price increased too, I think this is horrible of Blizzard, during times were people have lost work, find it hard to keep a stable job some people an barely afloat…
WoW was a huge escape, during tough hard times, but this is getting ridiculous now, I’d like to see if Americans get a price increase.

CAD has strengthened by >5% against the USD over the last 3-6 months. Yet they’re still pushing through this change.
The forthcoming change to GST/HST rules doesn’t explain this either. Yes, we will be paying tax starting next July, but quoted prices aren’t tax-inclusive.

I pay for my game time with gold usually, but I did miss adding more and my 6-month subscription charged. Not the end of the world, as long as the recurring 6-month subscription price stays at $97.99 CAD I’m fine with this.
If you don’t have a recurring subscription and just add game time in 30, 90, or 180 day increments you will pay more.

some broke people during pandamic just want to play some wow man, reduce the sub for the game by 2$ for everyone instead of increasing it by 5 for canada what kind of business model is this?

Yeah, sad thing is that most people just gonna whine here on forum, instead just go in subscription management and cancel it, saying “22 bucks, no thanks”.

Thank you, for making the tentative decision to cancel my sub, a permanent one. I was hoping by time my sub runs out, in February, the game would be in a better state, bugs worked out, fun returned. That I could resub again.
But $22 a month? Absolutely not.
[edit] And yes, I read that ‘currently, the CAD pricing to purchase WoW subscriptions and WoW tokens will be unaffected by this price change’.
Currently.
And it’s just an amazingly scummy move during a pandemic, when so many are struggling still financially. Christ, my internet went up by $15 a month and as I work online, that’s necessary.
A game, is not.
Also, this is such a sh*t thing to do just before christmas. Seriously.

if they ever increase US game time price i will probly have to buy subs and cancel renew right away. I am fearful because my family gives me gift cards to pay for stuff (they took my debit card away, said the govt forbade me to have one) and the gift cards say they aren’t supposed to be used for auto renewing things but they worked before when i tried before so I hope they keep working.
