We got nerfed from 120 to 60 because of numbers getting to big for them to handle, you really shouldn’t have to ask this. Haha.

As a Canadian, it was already a pricey subscription, and now this.
I signed up for Wow when the lockdown started & it’s been helping my mental sate, keeping me sane, but I’m not sure I can justify $22 a month now.
I have a few months left, so I think after that I’m done. I’ll try and enjoy Shadowlands as much as I can before then.
I’m hoping the lockdown will let up by then, or I can find another MMO to occupy my time.
Shame.

Given that people got laid off work here due to Covid-19 its already financially hard times for many. People play your game because it keeps them from going out. We all appreciate that but it feels as if your company is trying to capitalize off it now. Given the financial hard times many of us are going through, you gouge us right before Christmas!!. I won’t rant on this but this is by far the most disgusting thing I have seen your company do. My friends and I know who play this game are leaving for FFXIV where they are considerate of their community. Best of luck everyone and stay safe during this situation.

It will be $25 then next July - make a decision peeps because we are going to get hit with the GST/HST bit as well.
- GST/HST on digital and other supplies made by non-residents. To level the playing field, the government proposes that foreign-based vendors selling digital products or services to consumers in Canada be required to register for, collect and remit the GST/HST on their taxable sales to Canadian consumers. Other transactions involving non-resident suppliers will also be subject to GST/HST. These changes are effective July 1, 2021.

I pay with gold anyway. The day this game costs more to pay in real money than FF is the day I stop playing it until that changes.
you can still buy a sub for the old price, and cancel right after you do… the prices in that sense aren’t changing.
This 2 tiered sub costing regime is also in place for South American currencies btw… the main reason to buy gametime anyway is for gifting and the CAD is price was slightly below the US price which may be the reason of this change.
If anything there is a benefit for everything else on the shop as your token redeems for more

if your on a sub the price doesn’t change… its only more expensive if your gifting gametime.
Makes sense. Also the GST/HST guidance pertains to non-Canadian companies that weren’t already paying the tax. Hard to imagine that a mega corporation like ActiBlizz with its battalions of beancounters hasn’t been paying it already if the tax was specified in Canadian law. So if they’ve been paying it, it would already be factored into the current CAD price.
But a stronger CAD wouldn’t hurt either.
Someone has to pay for all those free transfers off those full servers - guess too many Canadian are clogging up their servers.

There was no requirement to pay it in most locations. I think it was Quebec (of course) and maybe the odd other province that had legislation requiring the companies to collect.

billion dollar pure profits this past fiscal quarter and you raise the prices. You guys are every word that would get me banned from these forums. I do hope pissing off thousands of former subscribers is worth the short term gains you make.
