Druids are irrelevant to Dracthyr. I highly doubt we were on their minds when they made stupid decisions.
Two buttons that work like Running Wild, one for dragon riding and one for normal flying. There’s zero reason not to do it.

I found that all I wanted to do yesterday was Soar around. It’s so much fun! I personally do not want the cooldown reduced, I want Soar to be exactly the same as Dragonriding! And the content connected to Dragonriding, Evoker should be able to do it with Soar.
Also the ability Surge Forward should be usable when gliding (out of combat) to activate Soar. I want to be able to jump off of a ledge, point down, build speed and whoosh!

You’re not wrong, but I had to say it since I was playing druid up until the 15th.
If you let Dracs fly - no one will farm mount and everyone will roll a dragon. Was it a hard guess for you good sir ?
What? Druids can fly and I can guarantee many will still mount farm. People do play alts.

Let Dracthyr utilize certain aspects of mounts.
Engineering type mount? Replace leathery scale wings with mechanical ones.
Elemental / Sha / Maw style flying mount? Smoking wings of different colors.
Really not hard to expand on their “flight” concept. Doesnt even really need a deep dive critical thinking to think of adaptations for them.
Would need a new story line for you to obtain Mechanical wings and sha type wings. Why do you think Dracs deserve that and we dont ?
Unless you magically removed your wings and became a half robot half dragon ? Overwatch much ?

Tell me one logical reason why they would not let it fly - they have wings. Why not let a dragon fly ?
What is your supporting theory ? Clearly they did have a brainstorm, unless you think the devs did not question - should we let dracs fly. Surely someone had a supporting theory as to why not let it fly. Let us know what you think ?

Yeah this has like 0% chance of ever happening. Imagine all the rework on Blizzard to add umpteen gazillion special mount effects. No what is far more realistic is for them to get a running wild racial that takes 1.5 seconds to cast but lets them serve as their own flying mount without the dragonriding stuff. I’d be fine with that.
Oh you’re asking the wrong person, chief. I’m a strong advocate for the cooldown on Soar being removed and Drac’thyr getting a racial flight mount.
I was just offering a temporary solution.

Funny as well, that you think I only care about Dracthyr. Ironic you weren’t around for my (Mecha)Gnome and Goblin Mount idea that would be usable by all after said questline…
As I said, it isnt hard concept to build upon.
Not sure why you both think this is some majestic application for a Pultzer, or a Nobel Peace Prize to bring forth some special never before seen world changing situation.
Just minor visual effects and alterations to an existing skin+skeleton section, dont even need to add in too much of animations or effect out side of a simple puff of smoke that mounts already use.
apparently this is bugged for evokers. the second quest just doesnt even show up for them at all. so we can’t even do this much lol

they already have all of the animations needed for regular flight, so it wouldnt even be this much. and soar can just be made identical to dragon riding for the isles. badda bing badda boom

Awww that’s super lame. I thought for sure they’d be able to do it once I saw that they could get the initial quest.
I hope they fix that sooner rather than later.

Ah yes the old “it’s just a button. How hard can it really be” person developers love hearing from.
Personally, I don’t see why they just don’t slap all the Dracthyr customization options on the character create screen for all the other races. It’s obviously so easy to just cut and paste…Blizzard must be hella lazy if they can’t even do that much and would obviously make so many people happy.
I mean maybe not all of them but it’d be super easy to just slap the horn customizations onto any race. Just map and scale them to the top of the character mesh and done. They’ll clip with stuff like Tauren horns but what doesn’t? That’s just WoW lol
