The TCG had it. Hearthstone had it. I’m sure the new Archlite Rumble with get some form of it…
I’m talking about Gnomes vs. Goblins; a battle of grit, grease and gears. Who are the best tinkers? The Supreme Engineer?
Now is the time to decide, to bring love to these three races with their own exclusive racial mount and back slot transmog as a reward from their own (shared) questline.
The concept is simple.
The player must have, or at least meet the requirement(s) of their Mechagnome, Gnome or Goblins Heritage requirements.
Once this is complete, the player will obtain a letter from a rocket-chicken.
The letter will urge them to head to Thousandneedles, Mirage Speedway Barge for a matter of great life altering importance.
The Rocket-chicken explodes, leaving behind a portable one time use portal to the barge.
When player arrives, they are greeted by an engineer from their race, detailing that, they come to an accord to settle which race has the best tech, but to make it fair, other races are allowed to join, despite not having the same intellectual power in tinkering.
The Barge has been updated and is in “better conditions” larger, and now accompanied by the Rustbolt Mechagnomes.
The players would be directed to head to their racial area and proceed with the quest line for the three part race.
A series of fetch quests, followed by cut scene for the first quest.
Second quest would follow prompts to build a better version of the equipment used followed by another short cut scene.
Third race is briefly interrupted before it starts as the three main engineers argue on who should judge. The player gets a bright idea and tells the engineers to wait, as they know the perfect judge for the engineers. A group of goblins overhear and make start of a betting board on who it is (optional bet to win only 550g)
Player heads to Northrend to speak to Mimiron. Upon entering Ulduar, the player sees it is under attack by the Venture Co.
Mimiron agrees to your request if you can help repel the Venture Co in a timely manner.
After completing this, both Mimiron and Player teleport to the barge. All three shocked, especially Rustbolts, which all three groups have built their final-FINAL device, a Gyro / Aero / Rocket pack that may appear to be like the rest but pretty powerful.
During which, right as the race starts, the Venture Co and Galleywix attacks. Angering Mimiron who grants the player(s) a portion of his power to the new racing device.
The third race gets underway, during which the player(s) go through ludicrouspeed hystericals while throwing bombs, shooting lasers and rockets at the Venture Co.
After which the last cut, all three finish the race at the same time, a three-way tie. Leaving the three main engineers to continue with their argument on who is the best engineer while the players leave with a new gyro/aero/rocket pack mount and matching back mog that fits their racial heritage theme.
Just a random thought.
