Honestly, with all the flight practice type stuff that happened in shadowlands, I really thought we were going to end the expansion with our own wings mount, which then would have lead perfectly into introducing a new race that has wings.
Then, everyone could fly with their own wings, but the dracthyr could still have some special abilities like soar that could be used in combat, whereas everyone else would just have a wing mount.

Would be nice. I have no doubt its been brought up before. They want everyone to use the fancy, customizable mounts for dragonriding this xpac. Maybe they revisit after DF.

I don’t understand why the devs cannot just give us a new skill that lets us fly in our dracthyr form using normal mount speeds and restrictions.
Give the players want they are begging for. It doesn’t do anything other than make a large portion of the players happy.

I recall reading somewhere that soars cooldown can get as low as 1 min with all the dragonflight dragon flying talents. So… Kinda.
unfortunately even given the reduced cooldown, dragon riding is still vastly superior to soar, to the point that soar won’t be worth using on the isles except for “cool” factor. soar needs to be identical to dragonriding so dracthyr can choose between them, and they need to be given a racial “mount” so they can fly normally in old content

The same article said soar will get bonuses from the dragon flying trees as well.

It makes no sense.
Druids can be different animals in flight form (that you know, FLY) - why can’t a damn dragon fly indefinitely ? It’s so bad.

yes i know, i just said that. even with the perks from dragon riding, the cooldown is still 1 min+ and the two soar abilities aren’t affected, and the speed is nowhere close to dragon riding. like i said, dragon riding is still the far superior choice, making soar pointless

yea I don’t understand this either they have wings, treat it like flight form for Druids or wild running for worgen. its not that hard.

While I agree on Dragon Isles soar should NOT have a cooldown, we will be able to get the cooldown to 1 minute so that helps a bit.
On older content, just make it work like regular flying with no cooldown. It has a cast time so it won’t impede on druid specialness.
Screw the feelings of druids.

Yes, but the devs seem to care about it… 
I just really wish that there can be a true dragon form for drakthyr. The current one just feel incomplete…
