I don’t want more reliance on tanks.
Tanks and healers are both forces of fascism and tyranny. Never forget how their oppression is what led to blizzard implement dungeon deserter, which they now use to oppress us even further. DPS, RISE UP✊️
Tanks are a fundamental part of group content though…you literally can’t do group content without a tank…every mmo has tanks…healers on the other hand have been proven to be an irrelevant role which only causes balance problems…wow is one of the only 2 mmos that still have healers, and we only still have healers because blizzard nerfed everyone else to make them relevant
Don’t need tanks. Diablo 4 is playable with 4 players. Don’t need healers either.
Diablo 4 isn’t a traditional mmo…its a top down hack and slash with some mmo elements…that’s like saying league of legends is an mmo…

no they don’t, ESO only has tanks and dps, yet they are a traditional mmo, new world doesnt have healers either, nor does GW2, FF14 while it has them, their more like glorified supports that dps, and they have slowly been trying to shift away from them aswell…healers fundamentally are detrimental to the balance of most mmos as their entire existence is to fix your mistakes
Whenever I see these types of posts I have to wonder what key range you’re talking about. Tanks (any class) seem just fine in all the content I do, but I am currently not running anything higher than +11 so I get I might not have the same perspective as you. And I know that some are better than others but all can do just fine in 11 and below.
But I’m arguing any mmo that doesn’t have healers is therefore not traditional because they broke from it.
their breaking away from it because healer is a bad role…again their entire existence is to fix you’re mistakes, which is fine, but in turn it means skilled groups would never need healers, so in order to force them blizzard created healer specific mechanics…which are extremely frustrating as a bad healer makes these mechanics impossible to beat when all the dps are being hit by a dot that will kill them 30 times over and not getting cleansed…
That’s why we have unavoidable damage. It’s not to fix people’s mistakes anymore.

No. Tanks should no be self sufficient, just like healers and dps shouldn’t be able to survive without a tank (oh wait)…
If anything tanks should have all self heals removed and only have mitigation spells. They need to increase the effectiveness of healers so they stop hitting like a wet sponge.
Then what are they supposed to do? Real question, I’m not being facetious. The problem is that dps are now 75% responsible for their own survival.
Anecdotal. I track defensives on my healer, and I can tell you from experience that 99% of the time when a dps dies, it’s to a scripted group-wide damage event that they pressed nothing to handle. The disparity in defense toolkits just compounds the issue.
Yeah, but again, the tank is an essential class, healer isn’t, if you have to add unavoidable dmg to make a class relevant…it just shouldn’t exist in the first place
Like I’m not even trying to say remove all the healer specs, merely rework them into support specs who can create fun windows of situational power, rather then healbot the whole time (would actually play the role then lmao)

If mobs did pitiful melee damage, you don’t need a tank. If everything fixated, you also don’t need a tank.
Do you want to playa dps that does a little healing? Why, when you can play dps that does dps?
The constant whittling away from the trinity is causing massive problems in game balance. If they want to go to the GW2 model, they should just say that.
