more people enjoyed playing tank when they weren’t nerfed into uselessness like brewmaster or veng where you gotta kite or die

edit : not true , that totem nerf was bad , changing a skill of a class because an affix is wrong, change affix , but nerfing a skill …sucks (same goes for priests mass dispel)
Very largely in support of this suggestion.
Tanks nerfs impacted Brewmasters significantly because they scaled off trinkets harder (Crit/Vers loves damage trinkets) and so if you hit all tanks with 33% stat and damage reduction off ‘non tank’ trinkets it hits them more.
Bear in mind I’d actually be chill if it just trinkets that aren’t on the tank table, it still hits anything that does DPS as it still nerfs Hook trinket for STR tanks, poison vial for agi tanks etc.
There was no sell for tanks for the changes in anyway. I still love the role and will still do it. But I’ll only do it for friends if this keeps up.
And why do you think we don’t need to be “unnerfed” huh? What a resto shaman do to you?
Also yea I agree them balancing classes around a single affix like they do is stupid. But then again they keep making these out of the blue wild ideas and then realizing “hey this class has a kit that really deals with it well, lets take um out back and give um the boots!”

I will be throwing bombs at the problem until it’s fixed or gone.
I’d be fine with simply removing some stuff from the GCD.
It’s not fun pulling a +10 fortified pack and having to waste 2 - 3 GCDs with basic stuff just so they don’t kill me, and lose aggro to the trigger-happy fury warrior.
The problem is too many buttons. Active Mitigation needs to be rethought.
They do this every few expansions. “Why are people good at tank/heals now? Clearly they are too easy. Nerf their heals and damage protection, double the difficulty of the mobs”. At the end of that expac, or halfway through the next, “Oi. Where did all the tanks go?!? Why is no one healing?!?” And they make em better for an expac or two.

This sounds more like an issue with how brewmasters interacted with trinkets than anything else. Which means brewmasters need some sort of change under the hood.
As someone with a trigger happy Fury Warrior, I want this for both of us. Lmao.
TBH I’d prefer if they tried moving like just enough active mitigation to just be passive, so tanks don’t have to worry about instantly dying in the first 3 seconds if they pull big. Shouldn’t have to choose “Get Aggro or Die” though – least in my opinion.
Though then tanks would probably just pull more mobs till that is the case anyways, which doesn’t really solve the problem. Some tanks just wanna ride the edge.
Right now the options are:
- Get 2-shot trying to use your DPS abilities to hold aggro.
- Lose aggro because you’re going to use GCDs to mitigate at pull.
- Lose mitigation time because you popped your stuff before the pull, so you can DPS at pull.
We’re constantly having to choose the latter.
How about we just make tanks… TANKS again and not a dps class. It’s a sad day when the tank can literally out dps raid members in AOE and single target. There is NOTHING wrong with “tanks” now other than the fact you all want to do more dps… be real about it.
As time goes on Blizzard makes tanking and healing much less appealing for me. I used to enjoy dabbling into both roles here and there but the constant nerfs to both roles along with making dungeons (specifically keys) so ridiculously punishing there’s NO WAY I’d touch either role until something changes.
I love the role and I’ll always play it and main it. However, I do agree with this. I just don’t see why nerfing tanks was on the agenda. Dragonflight season 3 was arguably one of the best mythic + seasons and if we had tanks and healers at a good spot then why change them? They made roles that few people already played and made it even harder. The changes can only be aimed at the MDI level, and that’s not 99.9% of the player base.
There only two types of players who oppose this and would come and troll your thread:
- delulu who being carried by their 'x/8 mythic prog guild"
- malicious trash which sells carries so they want the game to stay unplayable
Just watch responses and see which type you delaing with, and put to ignore accordingly.
You’re right but the last change stat scaling was at the start of TWW. They only did WW (which now goes off Haste/Vers which is a problem for another thread)
Between when they got stuffed up in WoD and now Monks haven’t been greatly touched by both developers and the playerbase. We’re the second last played class (ahead of Evoker).
So needless to say I’m not holding my breath waiting them to fix it.
My best is likely a fat Aura buff end of S2/mid S3 and then actual change in Midnight or after.
Till then I’m rerolling (and hoping for the greater tank changes in this thread).
