Can we talk about this 2x grind for flying in 9.2?

I understand the ‘experience the content’ and didn’t mind, but it used to be sooner, no? I just enjoyed it as a fantasy element. Yeah I’d get ticked when someone would swoop out of the sky and grab stuff, but not compared to not having it. Kinda like now when everyone that’s still playing are mostly the super geared and one shot something before I can shoot an arrow. But, I accept that because of my chosen path. It just seems choice, let alone meaningful ones, have got bent out of shape.

You had four Covenants to choose from depending on your playstyle and that got turned on it’s head. Sometimes I do sympathize with Blizz - rare, but it happens! Lol

9.2 is the last patch for SL so you have plenty of time , no need to rush

So saying that flying has always been for after we “beat” the content is false. I could have achieved SL loremaster and explored every zone that allowed flying on day one of the xpac.

Except for being bored to tears…like I am in Korthia right now. But, that’s a me issue with some personal decisions to make.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but isn’t Zereth Mortis going to be the final zone of the expansion? Doesn’t make that equivalent to places like The Isle of Thunder where flying has never been implemented at all?

If so, having a grind to fly there is progress. Having to grind flight for the zone is better than never being able to fly.

lol iv been bored since 9.0 whats your point

IIRC you need to go to this zone to unlock double leggo.

I already have two legs.

This zone better have some wicked looking transmogs or I doubt I’ll ever visit it. The rewards sound like utter garbage.

Well, no, you’re not comprehending what is being said. Just like raid finder, Blizzard decides when you have “beaten” the content, because the content is so easy that you aren’t actually progressing it, and Blizzard is forced to make up an arbitrary and not organic progression because the content is so easy.

During TBC, there was an organic gate to flying. Gold was not as easy to come by and it actually took some elbow grease to earn. There was an authentic sense that you had to have done a lot of the content in TBC before you earned flying.

We’ll likely never see flying put behind a 500,000 gold purchase, and to be honest it is probably better for you that way, time-gating probably gets you flying faster than a 500,000 gold purchase price would.

that sounds terrible

No way, I’d have that instantly every single time. That’s only $40 in WoW Tokens.

Done and Done.

Implement it. :+1:t5:

You’re just a 100% anti-flying contrarian.

It’s been my experience with Systemland patches (so far) that it’s never as bad as it reads once you start playing, provided you don’t try to get everything done ASAFP.

Relax. Enjoy the scenery. Time will pass, and stuff will get done.

This is all complete nonsense. Getting 280 flying took “elbow grease” but not 60%. Everyone had that.

And you just agreed with me. It’s not about beating content, it’s about Blizzard slowing us down for no damn reason.

Sorry I meant 1/3.

That’s part of the reason I think Blizzard would never go down this road. Even if a good number of people wanted it, Blizzard would be accused of P2W etc. Time-gating creates a level playing field for everyone.

Blizzard decides because too many of you whined it was too much of a chore so they’re setting the schedule and deciding for you, they decide when you’ve beaten the content. It isn’t “no damn reason”, it is artificially simulated progression. Same as raid finder.

Yeah, i was about to clock out on that and go home

That’s what I did in BFA and was one of the few that liked it.

I played the stories, did the WQs, and gear, rep, and flying pretty much came by osmosis. Not happening in SL. Probably content drought, a five month break, and another one… solo casual isn’t cutting it this time around.

I never complained about no content except in WoD when there was actually no content. So don’t lay that BS on me.

And just because someone complains doesn’t mean they have to listen. Blizzard routinely ignores us. That’s just an untrue excuse that Blizzard and people like you continue to spread.

Also, the solution to no content is to create more content, not mess with a system everyone loved and has nothing to do with the amount of content in game.
