It seems like it’s no big deal. Out of all the complaints this one is ticking me off. And the Cypher double time-gating; I think; at least that’s what it looks like.
If you’re a normal 2.5 hour player I can’t figure the hours or weeks this is gonna take. It makes me want to throw up my hands before I even try.
I try to be fair when looking at the good and bad in WoW, but this one just seems… nasty. Not personally, but more like why??? Why again? Why make it without rewards, for the most part, as you go along? Maybe I’m missing something.
Don’t know . 8.3 to 9.0 was around 10 months . 9.2 will probably be late Jan early Feb . Only one more chapter to test and they are already testing the raid.
They probably already started to do some of the work for the next xpac before this one even launched .
I’d like to give it the benefit of the doubt but I’m so burned out on system after system. Systems are supposed to support the content, not become the content.
Apparently I don’t need to go to this zone? Upgrading legendaries, conduits, what else? I think the gear is 249 but that’s irrelevant to me because the vault will apparently give 252 for a 2.
The zone does look pretty. I’m withholding judgement until I play it…and the more systems, currencies. Whatever. I’m just really, really torqued about flying. Not sure why this one is setting off more than other things - those just seemed a variation of the same ol’ same ol’. This is different. And if we go by previous expansions, whenever they introduce something new there it’s followed up in continuing expac’s. Except for flight whistles because we enjoyed that but it lowered their time played metrics.
As annoying as it is to have another grind just to fly in a specific zone… I don’t think it’s gonna matter much. This zone is apparently optional, so on the chance you don’t like it, you won’t have to worry about it.
But that means if you don’t like that zone, you may have to stick with what you’ve been doing prior to the patch. So… yeah. Hoping the zone is a winner.
OP, here is the thing. Players screamed very loud and clear about the grinds that they implemented this xpac, yet here we go again.
I do not mind that they want to prevent people from flying too soon, or even that in some zones they don’t want flying at all. But tying it to yet another killer grind is exactly what their customers have been complaining about.
Tying flying to grinds has worn people out. Actually after Korthia, tying anything to farming yet another currency is going to annoy people. But I guess they needed to have something for people to do for the next year, even if it isn’t fun.
Zereth Mortis looks more chill and relaxing, a sort of Timeless Isle vibe rather than the cold bleak oppression of Korthia. I think people will like it. Especially the open-world powers to reward casuals who commit a lot of time.
It’s really the perfect compromise too, because once you’ve unlocked the account-bound utilities (Double Legendary + the set Item forge), you don’t NEED to do Zereth Mortis. So progressing towards flying in the zone will be purely because you want flying, and those of us who don’t like flying will not be obligated to unlock it in order to become “more efficient” at grinding a mandatory patch system.
